A WELL OF TRUTH
THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM – PART FIVE

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to drawing from A Well of Truth. Today we will continue with part five of looking at the Blessing of Abraham. As we prepare to dive into our teaching, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Also, remember to be reading out loud. You know why, please don’t be rebellious. The featured picture is a well with lots of water and bucket full of water about to be drawn from that well. The water is the Word of God that gives life (zōē Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary, life as God knows life) and cleanses. Receiving life and/or cleansing is not automatic, it is our choice, what have you chosen? Let’s again start our study by going to these familiar Scriptures in the Apostle Pauls’ epistle to the saints at Galatia.
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
As you will recall we are taking a very close look at the Blessing of Abraham. Exactly what is the Blessing of Abraham is the question. We will walk it out, but in a nutshell the Blessing of Abraham is a complete reversal, a wiping out of the effects (curse) of sin. God always had a plan in the event that His man fell for the deceptions of the serpent. The One we now call Jesus was always in the wings, so to speak, the Lamb of redemption, salvation for all who would. First, we had the blood and destruction of innocent animals and then the Lamb of God, Jesus the Christ. At the end of the Millennial Reign of Christ comes the final judgement of Satan, the demons, and the wicked remaining in the earth. Then comes the grand finale of a new heaven and a new earth and no more curse.
Revelation 21:1-4 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 22:1-3 (KJV)
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: (Bold added)
God’s family gets a brand-new start! All of this mess brought about by sin, turning aside to other words will be cleaned away. The messes in our lives are due to the same thing, turning aside to other words than the Words of God. Now, let’s review the unfolding account of Abram and the Blessing that culminated due to his obedience, his faith.
Genesis 14:18-22 (KJV)
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday. O what a study!
