ABIDE IN HIM AND YOU SHALL NOT TASTE DEATH

Greetings dear saints of God and others and welcome back to our ongoing Bible Study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. This was the major theme of Jesus’ Ministry in the earth, and I have been instructed to teach this as well. We are so fortunate to not be left with no alternative to darkness but have an abundance of light if we will but seek it. Anyone can gather information from the Bible like any other book but only those who love the Lord and seek after Him with all their hearts will have the Scriptures opened to them. Now, let’s go to our anchor Scripture and kick off today’s teaching.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
As with every teaching let me again ask, do we see this as a command and are we doing it? This is not easy and is very contrary to our training in the world system and for the most part it is not taught in the Church. Many people are seeking after the natural things of life and as time allows, they seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This is the upside-down world of the curse of satanic deception. Now, let’s go to today’s teaching from the mouth of our Lord.
Matthew 16:27-28 (KJV)
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
At first glance, verse twenty-seven would seem to point to the Rapture or The Catching Away of the saints. However, I believe on further examination and finding the phrase “with his angels” we might more accurately conclude this is at the Second Coming. Before moving forward let me ask, when do we get our rewards? I hear many say after one has died that they have gone to their reward. Is that true. It seems to me that we will not receive our rewards until the end of the age when all the seeds we have sown are harvested. This would be at the second coming. The following passage would seem to confirm this.
Matthew 13:39-42 (KJV)
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Continuing into verse twenty-eight we find this statement “some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” Here is the question. When was the Kingdom of God again established in the earth? What was lost by sin in the Garden of Eden was restored at the Resurrection of Christ Jesus. When we examine this in the Gospel account of John it seems that Jesus is speaking of spiritual death not physical death.
John 8:51 (KJV)
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
TAKE HOME:
- Abiding in the Word of God assures us that we will never taste spiritual death.
- Jesus is coming back to the earth with His holy angels and His reward for every man is with Him. In this time will come the great separation of the wheat and tares and the rewards of the righteous according to our works. Are you doing the works of God.
- Remember to put your Kingdom of God assignments and His way of doing before all pursuits of worldly things albeit they necessary, the Father knows you have need of them.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
