Thursday – January 4, 2024, Tevet 23, 5784
Greetings to one and all especially to those of the household of faith. Welcome back our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book full of warnings, lessons, and abundant hope. Remember hope in Scripture is not maybe, maybe not, it is an anticipated outcome that will occur. The promises of God don’t just drop on us because we got saved, we have to think, speak, and do according to the policy and procedure manual (Bible). Please take a moment and share this teaching, for that matter all teachings, as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing.
Please don’t forget that I have published several books which are available to help us all be more like Him. Please don’t look at me, look at the Lord who gave them to me.
Matthew 13:55-58 (KJV)
55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
These books are available on Amazon or our website, the links for both are listed below. There is always on open invitation for those the Lord calls to financially partner with us, our mission. As we enter this year let’s each one of us ask ourselves if we are in our place and are we occupying our assigned responsibility. In the accounts of the pounds and talents which servant are we? A day of judgment is coming and it is coming soon when we must give an accounting.
2 Corinthians 5:9-11 (KJV)
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
This reminds me of a much earlier Scripture penned by King Solomon by the unction of the Holy Spirit.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 49:8-12 (KJV)
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
The Lord is telling His first chosen people Israel, there are times of acceptable and favorable times for salvation, to receive help. He assures them that even in their current state in that time and even now a better day is coming. Better days come with repentance. Before we finish for today let’s take a look at verses 8 & 9 in the Amplified Bible.
Isaiah 49:8-9 (AMP)
8 Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable and favorable time I have heard and answered you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you; and I will preserve you and give you for a covenant to the people, to raise up and establish the land [from its present state of ruin] and to apportion and cause them to inherit the desolate [moral wastes of heathenism, their] heritages,
9 Saying to those who are bound, Come forth, and to those who are in [spiritual] darkness, Show yourselves [come into the light of the Sun of righteousness]. They shall feed in all the ways [in which they go], and their pastures shall be [not in deserts, but] on all the bare [grass-covered] hills.
Over and over the Lord has coaxed His people to come to Him and thrive, abandon their rebellion, their idols. Here in verse nine, we see Him beckoning them to come to the Light, the Sun of righteousness, none other than Jesus the Christ. If they will their deserts will be transformed to luscious grass covered hills. Of course, this is symbolic of prosperity, increase, of every kind in every arena of life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
