GIFTS – PART ONE HUNDRED-THIRTY-SEVEN
ARMOR OF GOD – PART SEVENTY-NINE
SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – PART FOUR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and thank you for rejoining The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment and share this teachings by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. As you know I have been teaching of the “Gifts” of God for some one hundred and thirty-seven weeks counting today and seventy-nine weeks counting today on the “Armor of God”. I thought I was done with the sword of the Spirit but the Lord let me know I was not done. Since the “sword of the Spirit” is the Word of God, which is the whole Bible, I suppose one could go for a lifetime and not exhaust the topic. So, let’s take a moment and review our primary Bible text. By the way, there is no maximum on the number of times one should read any portion of Scripture. There is always more for the Holy Spirit to reveal to the ones with ears to hear. Be reminded to be reading out loud.
Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Let’s do just a little review before I move forward. As we pick up in verse ten, the number of responsibility, in this case our responsibility to be strong. Being strong and walking in the Power of God is available to all in the Kingdom of God. It is not exercised or manifest in but a few because they/we fail to exercise our responsibility. The following verses concerning the armor of God tell us how to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. So let each of us judge ourselves before the Lord. Without this armor we will crumble before the devils. We perhaps won’t even recognize it is him or perhaps your particular religious sect has taught you that God is beating your brains out to test your faith, to teach you something.
Verse twelve is very important and one that must be burned into our subconscious and consciousness. Our battle is not with people although I have to admit it is really easy to focus on a person or group and not on the demons behind them. Spiritual enemies must be confronted with spiritual weapons. Remember our authority and the Power behind that authority has no equal, not even close! However, this all works by our knowledge of God, of these spiritual weapons and who we are in Christ. It is all by faith (fully persuaded), powered by love (agape), as we are led of the Holy Spirit.
I hope that we are fully aware as we go verse by verse over the armor that they are one command, from our commander in chief, after the other. This is not optional. If the devils are whooping (southern slang for a beating) up on us, it would be very wise to examine the armor freely given us by our Heavenly Father. By whooping I am talking all manner of the curse in our lives (read Deuteronomy 28:14-68). The curse can only enter by permission, our permission first. We cannot spend too much time meditating, studying the armor of God and implementing it every day, all day. This armor is a part of the sword of the Spirit, it is a part of the Word of God and we must, it is imperative, that we build faith. It is our faith that will bring the victory, not God’s not the Pastor, not someone else for our lives.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This is hearing, with ears to hear, the spoken Word of God (Rhema).
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
