AT LAST THE SPIRIT IS POURED DOWN

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word. We are not left to wander around in the dark wondering about the things of God, the will of God. He has revealed them to us but we must study the Word. Consider, receive, believe, and act upon the following verses.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
People seem to love to quote verse nine above and are apparently oblivious or perhaps willingly ignorant that God did not leave us in the dark. His Spirit will reveal to us whatever we seek after, “we have the mind of Christ” so let’s use it! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was taken a couple of years ago out the front door of the front porch after a snow storm at our Condo in Maine. In case you’re wondering, I don’t miss the snow at all, not at all, and I surely don’t miss the cold! Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 32:14-20 (TLB)
14 Palaces and mansions will all be deserted, the crowded cities empty. Wild herds of donkeys and goats will graze upon the mountains where the watchtowers are,
15 until at last the Spirit is poured down on us from heaven. Then once again enormous crops will come.
16 Then justice will rule through all the land,
17 and out of justice, peace. Quietness and confidence will reign forever more.
18 My people will live in safety, quietly at home,
19 but the Assyrians will be destroyed and their cities laid low.
20 And God will greatly bless his people. Wherever they plant, bountiful crops will spring up, and their flocks and herds will graze in green pastures.
As you will recall we have been looking at this passage from not just the physical prospective but the spiritual. All things have their origin in the spirit realm and then the physical. Outward manifestations first existed in the thoughts, words, and ways of the individual. We are made to be productive. In the world system we have hard work, we have toil and sweat. Many times, people speak of themselves or others as being “hard workers” as a badge of honor. This is not the Kingdom of God way. Jesus said His yoke was easy and His burden was light. Who are you working for, Jesus or the devils? Spiritual laziness results in not only spiritual poverty of every kind, but manifests for all to see in physical poverty of every kind. You shall know them by their fruit. As we read further in our text just as we find over and over in this wonderful Book (whole Bible) God tells us what not to do and the consequences then what to do and the dynamic and abundant consequences. The Kingdom of God way always has a far better outcome but it is not automatic. Then again neither are the outcomes of the world system automatic. Whatever is present in your world, my world, you and I have created brought into physical manifestation.
This 32nd chapter of Isaiah is like a sandwich with the bread on each side speaking of the goodness of God and the content of the sandwich being the fruit of laziness. We find the Prophet Isaiah talking of a time when “a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly”. Then through a pouring out of the Spirit of God His people will enjoy justice, peace, quietness, and safety. It is not clear when this will occur. There have been times in the ancient past when Israel possessed these things for short periods of time. They and we the Church will experience this and more in the Millennial Reign of Christ and forever after. At that time all enemies will have been subdued. As I end for today let’s look at verse twenty in the New Jerusalem Bible.
Isaiah 32:20 (NJB)
20 You will be happy to sow wherever there is water and to let the ox and donkey roam free.
The idea of sowing seed is common in many translations and where there is water. The seed can be anything, commonly it is money, and sowed with the Words of God in our mouth by faith and an abundant harvest is the result.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here moving into chapter 33 tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
