BROUGHT DOWN TO THE PIT

Greetings precious friends and partners of this Ministry and blog. We are always ready to receive partners. A partner is one who come along side financially. I will say the same to you as the Apostle Paul said to those who were to partner with him.
Philippians 4:17 (KJV)
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Giving is commanded of God, first the tithe (10% of all gain) and then in addition what is commonly referred to as “freewill offerings”. It is vital that we not give by coercion of any kind, or pressure of any kind, but only as the Lord leads.
As we continue moving forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for sharing, you have a vital role in this Ministry. The featured picture today is of an Arabian Camel (one hump) reminding us this is hump day (Wednesday). Let’s stop dreading Monday and looking forward to Friday but look forward with anticipation is every day as we do all as unto the Lord. We must view our jobs not primarily as a paycheck but one of the ways God uses us to benefit, bless, the company or person we work for, and all who benefit from what is produced. We must resist looking at that employer as our primary source even if we own the company, but look to God as our source. He can use many avenues to satisfy our needs and wants.
Now let’s move on to our text in Isaiah which is very fascinating but also very revealing concerning the one we call Satan, the Devil, the Old Dragon, the Serpent, and so on. Studying the fall of Lucifer is not only revealing but empowering. It is revealing about our fallen nature (flesh, carnality). Those things we don’t like in our nature, that we must crucify (sometimes daily), came from our old father, the Devil. Crucifying our flesh is empowering. Remember to continue reading out loud, you are reading out loud, right?
Isaiah 14:12-15 (TLB)
12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground—mighty though you were against the nations of the world.
13 For you said to yourself, “I will ascend to heaven and rule the angels. I will take the highest throne. I will preside on the Mount of Assembly far away in the north.
14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.”
15 But instead, you will be brought down to the pit of hell, down to its lowest depths.
Yesterday I left off talking about how Lucifer became self-deceived and that propensity is in our fallen nature as well. After all, before we came to Christ, he was our father. Notice all the “I will” in the text. This can be dangerous speech when we do not acknowledge the Lord in ALL that we do. It is easy to think we are doing all ourselves forgetting that we can do nothing of ourselves. Really hone in on the 28th verse in the following passage.
Acts 17:28-29 (KJV)
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
I know that I am repeating some from yesterday but we have got to get this stuff really down into us, not just information but revelation. Looking back at our primary Bible text in Isaiah, what was the outcome of Lucifer forgetting what he was and who was his master? Do you suppose we can suffer the same fate when we get puffed up in pride and go our own way? In case you are struggling with the answer because of the teachings of “greasy grace”, the answer is, YES. Let’s take a moment and step back to the verse just before our text in the Complete Jewish Bible.
Isaiah 14:11-12 (CJB)
11 Your pride has been brought down to Sh’ol with the music of your lyres, under you a mattress of maggots, over you a blanket of worms.’
12 “How did you come to fall from the heavens, morning star, son of the dawn? How did you come to be cut to the ground, conqueror of nations?
In this translation we find that pride is clearly described as the primary sin of Lucifer. Synonyms of pride in the thesaurus include arrogance, self-importance, vanity, feelings and actions of being superior. The antonym or opposite of pride is humility. You and I brother and sister are called to humility like our Master and not pride like our spiritual enemy. I leave you for today with the following passage.
1 Peter 5:5-7 (KJV)
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
The picture to the left is of my mother and father who both had a birthday on this date. My dad would have been 98 today, and my mom 96. I was very blessed with good parents, Christian parents, and a good extended family.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
