CONSIDER ONE ANOTHER
Thursday – March 8, 2018

Let us consider, give attention to, be attentive to, one another, husbands your wives, wives your husbands, and all those God has brought and allowed in our lives. Notice all of this is a looking outward, giving attention to the needs of the Kingdom and not stove piped to our own little world. Let’s dive into our faith building Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews in the name of Jesus. God is so good and His Word is certain. The question is this; will we choose it, value it above all else or succumb to our feelings and the reasonings’ of the world? Now, let’s look to our primary Bible text and move forward in our diligent study.
Hebrews 10:22-27 (KJV)
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Today I am picking up with the twenty-fourth verse. Twenty-four has to do with the priesthood, functions of the priesthood. Our Scripture is not talking about being a busybody but to be ready to follow the Holy Spirit in the encouragement of our brothers and sisters in the faith. As we consider this verse and what it means to each of us let’s consider the following Bible translations of the same verse.
Hebrews 10:24 (HCSB)
24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,
I suspect many of us walk around in our own little bubble with our first concerns being those of our own life, particularly our feelings. How does that attitude square with Scripture? I know you are ahead of me and know that thinking and attitude does not square with Scripture. However, to often we plunge ahead anyway wanting our own way with some demon derived reasonings. Consider the words of Jesus.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
What about these words of Jesus?
John 15:13 (KJV)
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus is not only talking about His coming Crucifixion but that the highest exercise of love for us also is a laying down of what we want and want now and intercede in the life of another. Remember this verse has to do with our priestly functions in the earth. So, it seems that when we put the needs of the Kingdom ahead of our own, God steps up and takes care of our needs. Now, that does not mean that our needs land on the front porch with a bow and card indicating it is directly from Heaven. We will play a role in not only meeting the needs of others, of the Kingdom, but in our own needs as well. It is about focusing on Him, the needs of the Kingdom and not upon our little world and our selfish misdirected prayers.
Hebrews 10:24 (AMP)
24 And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities,
Does it sound like our provoking of one another is as a bull in a china closet or with great care? If we are not led of the Spirit in our walk we can cause great havoc not only in other peoples lives but due to disobedience in our own. Remember, Jesus takes what we do concerning other believers as if we are doing it to Him. I think all three of the Bible translations I have presented have elements of the great care we are to exercise towards others. What are we exercising great care to do concerning other? We are to provoke other believers, and they us, “unto love and to good works.” To provoke a person means to incite, stirrup, or to sharpen the person, in this case, with regard to walking in love and good works. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
