MORE ABOUT GOING TO EGYPT

Greetings precious followers and partners of The Three Minute Word blog and this Ministry. Welcome back to this empowering through enlightenment Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching to expand our reach with the Truth. Thank you for sharing. You are important to us and to the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today is of a Church in Arizona and is a reminder to pray for the saints. The following passage is lengthy but so wonderful I could not cut it off or shorten it.
Ephesians 1:15-23 (AMP)
15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),
16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.
17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],
21 Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.
22 And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church],
23 Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].
Thank you for praying this Scripture over yourself, over us, and over our brothers and sisters in Christ. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 31:1-3 (AMP)
1 WOE TO those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses and trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek and consult the Lord!
2 And yet He is wise and brings calamity and does not retract His words; He will arise against the house (the whole race) of evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.
3 Now the Egyptians are men and not God, and their horses are flesh and not spirit; and when the Lord stretches out His hand, both [Egypt] who helps will stumble, and [Judah] who is helped will fall, and they will all perish and be consumed together.
Egypt in our text is a type and shadow of the world system which is far inferior to the Kingdom of God system. We operate, we are in the world but we are not of the world meaning it is not our primary source of anything. We have looked at God’s warnings to not turn to the world instead of Him many times particularly in Jeremiah 17:5-6 and even Deuteronomy 28:14-15. Both of these are contrasted with looking to Him in Jeremiah 17:7-8 and Deuteronomy 28:1-2. I don’t know what you are seeing but God is far and away the better One to look too. Obedience to the Lord to His leadership is essential in the good and the bad times for the world. I put for the world because these times are not the source of our economy. Look at Isaac’s obedience and outcome.
Genesis 26:1-3 (AMP)
1 AND THERE was a famine in the land, other than the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar, to Abimelech king of the Philistines.
2 And the Lord appeared to him and said, Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I will tell you.
3 Dwell temporarily in this land, and I will be with you and will favor you with blessings; for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.
The outcome!
Genesis 26:12-14 (AMP)
12 Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings.
13 And the man became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and distinguished;
14 He owned flocks, herds, and a great supply of servants, and the Philistines envied him.
This is not just a nice story; this is instruction for each of us. We are to be a mighty testimony of our God’s goodness like Isaac.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
