FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER
DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS – PART TEN

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to From the Prophets Chamber and the topic Do All His Commands. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. In the featured picture I am teaching at Faith Chapel in Pennington Texas. A precious group of people. Please be sure you are reading out loud.
Don’t skip this! This teaching is designed to hammer home the vital importance of obeying the commands of God and none other. We are not left to keep His commandments without help, we have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who will guide us into all Truth.
John 16:13 (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Love, agapē/agapaō, of God and as the following verse points out of our neighbor.
Galatians 5:14 (KJV)
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
It is vital that we be sensitive to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, our own conscience, and study to rightly divide the Scripture. The whole of Scripture speaks of the absolute necessity of walking obedient to Scripture but somehow many of us are not. We claim to know this but our lives do not show the evidence of this obedience, the fruit. God is not picking winners and losers, making some rich and others poor, some sick and others healthy and so on. Our God is not an abusive parent putting evil like poverty and illness on His children. What about the commonly heard exclamation that God is Sovereign, that His ways are higher than our ways, beyond our understanding. Sovereign although commonly used in reference to God is not a Bible word however, I will concede that the various descriptions of God are consistent with being Sovereign.
I know, you read it before, but keep reading it! So, what does the word ‘sovereign’ mean? It means the one who is a supreme ruler such as a monarch. Having authority and having control are two very different things. Any parent knows this. God does not make any person do anything, it is always our choice, His child or not. Jesus is the head of the Church, the One of highest authority, the One from whom we receive instruction. When was the last time He made you do anything? I am talking about controlling you or me like a robot or a puppet. No, He convicts us by His Word, the Holy Spirit, or messengers in our lives. He made us with a freewill meaning we are free to exercise our will. The whole of Scripture reflects or shouts this, Truth! What have you chosen, what have I chosen? The answer is that what we have chosen is evidenced in the life we now live. Believing the God in control lie or any other (there are many in the Church) sincerely even passionately does not protect one from evil consequences. Now, let’s jump into our primary Bible text once again for a few moments. Be sure you are reading out loud.
Deuteronomy 28:1-4 (KJV)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
As we walk in love (agapē/agapaō) with God (verse one above) we will walk in victory and remain above the evil of the curse. Our flesh and our spiritual enemies will present us with multiple opportunities to turn from the Words of God to other words. Scripture tells us that in submission to God we will be empowered to prosper everywhere we go (in the city and in the field). As we end for today, what are the myriad promises in verse four?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday.
