FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK EIGHTY-SEVEN
SON – AMBASSADOR – HEIR – PART NINE

Greetings dear sons (and daughters), ambassadors, and joint-heirs of the Kingdom of God and welcome back to From the Prophets Chamber. Today I will be picking up with part nine of the current series concerning sons, ambassadors, and joint-heirs. Before we move forward, please take a moment to share todays teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing, that is so important in expanding our reach with the good news. Now let’s move to our primary Bible text for this series reading out loud.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Romans 8:17 (KJV)
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
We have spent quite a lot of time looking at the phrase “new creature” in 2 Corinthians 5:17 and acknowledge and know that the transforming moment is upon entry into the Kingdom of God, when we are instantly “in Christ”. If one is not “in Christ”, in the Kingdom of God they are in Satan, in the kingdom of darkness. Do we really understand the following verse?
Romans 6:16 (KJV)
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
To whom am I yielding, to whom are you yielding? Who is lord?
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you just now confessed Jesus as Lord out of your own mouth, and believed in your heart that God the Father raised Him from the dead you are in a different kingdom and are now in Christ. You may not fully recognize or know today or perhaps your whole life the gravity of this decision to be a child of God. This decision has the most wonderful consequences now and forever after. Staying in Satan and his kingdom have absolutely awful consequences here and forever after.
On being “in Christ” we were made new creatures or we could say, sons like never have existed before nor will ever exist in the ages to come. Sonship in the Kingdom of God carries with it wonderful benefits coupled with easy and light obligations. As sons we are heirs, possessors of the assets etc. of the Kingdom, we have an obligation to conduct Kingdom business, we are empowered to build, and to create just like our Heavenly Father.
At this time, I want to pick up with the phrase “old things are passed away”. We see right away the idea that things of the past are to be in the past and not carried into the present nor into the future.
Ephesians 4:22-24 (TLB)
22 then throw off your old evil nature—the old you that was a partner in your evil ways—rotten through and through, full of lust and sham.
23 Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better.
24 Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature.
Whose responsibility is it to throw off the old evil nature? Whose responsibility is it to develop new attitudes and thoughts? Who is responsible to cloth us with this new nature? All three are our responsibility!
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
