FRIDAY NUGGETS
THE MIND OF CHRIST

Greetings dear and precious friends, partners, and children of God the Father. Welcome to Friday Nuggets and the topic of The Mind of Christ. Classically the mind is a part of our soul, part of our spirit man, along with our emotions, and will. Some include the intellect as well but it seems to me that is part and parcel of the mind, the central processing center of our thoughts (conscious and subconscious). Before I proceed, please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible using every means at your disposal. Thank you for sharing. Those who share and partner with us have a very important role in this Ministry and in fulfilling the role of a son in the Kingdom of God. Recently in a conversation with a friend, a man of God, the topic of the “mind of Christ” came up. Many say that we don’t have, cannot have the “mind of Christ” and start quoting (in part) from Isaiah. Consider the following verse and continue reading out loud.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
This verse seems to clearly say that we have the mind (the thoughts) of Christ (Anointed One, Messiah, Holy Spirit). Don’t go apoplectic now and let’s go to Isaiah and examine what I think for many will be a familiar passage.
Isaiah 55:6-11 (KJV)
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The Lord through the Prophet Isaiah is telling the listening audience that they must call upon the Lord while He can be found, while He is near. The all too not so subtle idea is there is coming a time when He cannot be found, and He will not be near. For those not in Covenant with God we know that time comes at the point of physical death. Who is God talking to through the Prophet Isaiah? Verse seven makes it clear He is talking to the wicked, the unrighteous. This brings us to the oft quoted verses out of context.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Of course, the thoughts and ways of God are not the thoughts and ways of the heathen. Unfortunately, it seems they are not those of many in the body of Christ either. I can’t speak for you but I know that as for me I want every rudiment of the world’s way displaced from my thoughts and ways. Remember the verse with which we started this teaching?
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (Bold added)
Who are the “we” in this verse, we are the redeemed, those in Christ Jesus. I have not forgotten about Isaiah 55:10-11, we will return to this for it applies not just to God but us, it is a way of God and thus to be our way. As I finish for this week consider the following passage preceding 1 Cor 2:16 (context).
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Verse nine to talking to natural man (unsaved) but verse ten makes it very clear that these things “which God hat prepared” “the deep things of God” are made know to us by His Spirit.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday and conclude our study of The Mind of Christ. We will conclude for now not finish.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
