FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK EIGHTY
SON – AMBASSADOR – HEIR – PART TWO

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to From the Prophets Chamber. Today I will continue teaching from familiar passages of Scripture and hopefully bring some additional light, renewal of our minds. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Now let’s plunge into our primary Scriptures reading out loud. We read out loud because we are determined to please our Heavenly Father.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Romans 8:17 (KJV)
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Last week I started to deal with 2 Cor 5:17 and the word ‘new’. New meaning to never have existed before. We dear brother and sister in Christ are different from any other creatures in eternity past or eternity to come. Let’s pick up with Psalm 8 where we left off last Saturday. This is a Psalm of David, the speaker is unclear, perhaps a musing in the mind of David, but we know it is an inspired utterance of God.
Psalm 8:3-9 (KJV)
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
In verse five the word translated as ‘angels’ is actually Elohim the Triune God. It is also clear that this Psalm is talking about mankind and Jesus to come the “son of man”. The following Bible translation and others reflect the correct, literal translation.
Psalm 8:5-6 (HCSB)
5 You made him little less than God and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You made him lord over the works of Your hands; You put everything under his feet:
Does the phrase “everything under his feet” ring a bell?
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Like in Psalm 8, this passage is referring to us and Christ Jesus. In Him we are far above all names except those of the Triune God.
Ephesians 2:5-7 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
What makes us different (new – never having existed before) from Adam, even Jesus as a man in the earth, is that we are in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death has been set aside, at least concerning us forever. Notice in verse seven, God is going to brag on us in the eternity to come. Question is this, to whom will He be speaking?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
