BELIEVERS MINISTRY – PART THREE
THE UPSIDE-DOWN CHURCH
Greetings dear and precious saints of God as this year is within hours of closing out. Thanksgiving is behind us; Christmas is behind us, and the New Year starts tomorrow. Tomorrow is New Year’s Day, an opportunity for a fresh start. As I have asked many times, did we spend our time well in 2022, and what are our plans for improvement in 2023 concerning the Kingdom of God. Are we going to do the same things in 2023 we did in 2022 that did not produce fruit? In order for change to occur, a change must be made. Are we willing to change or perhaps you say “I don’t know what to change”. Study carefully, listen carefully, find the error in thought, belief and change to the Word of God. Today I will be continuing to teaching about our God given but absolute authority in the earth and the Power available to the Spirit filled believer. Before moving forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible expanding the reach of this Ministry beyond its current bounds. Don’t forget to be reading out loud. I will now take us through several Scriptures that hopefully are very familiar but perhaps this time will illuminate with new light.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Jesus is talking and He is talking to all that believe on Him. Do I, do you, believe on Him? If so, He is talking to us. Can we review in our minds the works that are recorded for us which He did or were done through Him? Us doing the works Jesus did in His earthly Ministry is a command from the Head of the Church, from the Father, and also the Holy Spirit who is our Teacher (John 14:21, 26). Would Jesus tell us to do this if we, those who believe on Him, did not have the authority and the Power backing that authority? I hope you know the answer is a resounding NO! So, what’s the problem? Let’s move to our next Scripture.
Luke 24:46-49 (KJV)
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Here we find out that the Promised Holy Spirit is coming for all peoples who believe, who will receive. These folks are already saved as we see in the following passage.
John 20:19-22 (KJV)
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Sounds a little like the creation of man when God breathed into the man and he became a living soul. It was here that their dead, separated from God, spirits were quickened and the Holy Spirit took up residence in union with their spirit. Remember the following wonderful verse.
Ephesians 2:5 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
In our Luke text recounting the day of Jesus’ ascension to the Right Hand of the Father from the Mount of Olives we hear Jesus tell us there is an essential second step to effective fullness of Ministry for the Kingdom of God. That step is to receive the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, and be endued with Power. As I end for this week let’s recap where we are. We have absolute authority in the earth over all the earth and over all the enemy, over all the curse, and we have the Power of God to enforce that authority. Yes, you and me (if we are filled with the Holy Spirit evidenced by speaking in tongues) not just the leaders, the Five-Fold Ministers. Do we believe this?
