ARMOR OF GOD – PART FORTY-EIGHT
THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD
Greetings dear and precious children, sons and daughters of our Father God and welcome back to our study of the “Gifts” of God currently focused on “The Whole Armor of God”. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry with the good news. As you may be all too well aware I have spent a lot of time building a foundation upon which to sit this knowledge. I and many others have used the Roman soldier and his various implements of war as a physical illustration of spiritual Truth. Keep in mind that the various implements of the Roman soldier like the helmet, shield, or sword are physical representations of a body of knowledge, a body of Truth. Remember it is the Truth that makes us free not play acting out putting on a Roman soldiers’ armaments. Truth heard but not received, proven, believed, doubted not, and not led of the Spirit for use is of no benefit. Knowledge alone is useless; it is the utilization of knowledge that profits the individual, others, and the Kingdom.
We are in a war dear ones whether we think so or not. Jesus triumphed over the enemy and gained a victory for all mankind at Calvary, in the grave, in Hell, and with His Resurrection. However, the securing of that victory is day to day warfare which falls to each of us individually. We are freewill spiritual beings and we decide on victory or defeat. You might say, “well no one would knowingly choose defeat”, and perhaps that is correct but nonetheless people are doing it right and left. Now let’s move to our primary Scripture for our study today. Remember, always read Scripture out loud. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17), not by seeing.
Ephesians 6:11-13 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Our Scripture starts with a command and that command is to put on the whole armor of God. If our loving Heavenly Father is commanding us to do it, we are well able. Will it be automatic because we said the ‘sinners’ prayer’? No, no, and no! There is no such thing as a free ride in the Kingdom of God or a victorious lazy Christianity. Just as we played a role in obtaining our salvation, we will have a role in everything that happens according to the will of God and not according to the will of God thereafter. In order to put on the armor, we need a knowledge with sufficient understanding to use effectively. This armor is not only designed to protect us spirit, soul, and body, but to successfully take the battle to the enemy and win. We are to knock down his strongholds, walls, and occupy more and more of the territory he previously controlled.
The Apostle Paul continues to tell us that one main purpose of this armor is to equip us to stand against the wiles or devices of the devil. That word ‘wiles’ has to do with the devils’ methods of working. The devil, the demons, have been deceiving people for millennia and are very good at it starting with Eve. There are demons assigned to each and every one of us and they have been studying our family lines since they existed. They know what our familial weaknesses are, both morally, and physically. They work day and night to exploit those weaknesses. On the physical side getting us to declare our family diseases, like saying: “you know diabetes runs in my family, we all get it by age 40”, and so on. Our words are spirit and, in this case, bring the curse, bring death. These evil words bring forth evil in our lives. On the moral or spiritual side perhaps our grandfather ten generations back was a liar and that was taught (not purposefully perhaps but by example) and reinforced by the evil spirits generation to generation down to us.
As we go into verse twelve of our text, we are told that our battle is not with other people, flesh and blood. The devils will try to keep us in the physical realm for in that realm they win hands down every time. Spirits and spiritual issues must be addressed by spiritual means. The Apostle Paul then goes on to list the various ranks of demons and we will address that further next Friday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
