GOD’S REST, OUR REST REMAINETH
Friday – September 22, 2017

Right now, let each of us ask ourselves, “have I entered the rest of God, the rest (provision) that God has provided in abundance and overflowing (His nature)? If not why not? If your answer was ‘yes’ what is the evidence? The children of Israel didn’t enter God’s rest due to unbelief. This is the same reason that the vast majority of Christians have not entered. The devil over time, due to an eagerness of people to believe him due to their circumstance, has promoted the devilish doctrine that these things are all “spiritual” and for over there. That is very very wrong brother and sister. Jesus has given us abundance to have in the earth and in Heaven. After all if we are in the earth to just prove our metal so to speak this would be a salvation of works would it not and not a salvation of grace. Everything was in place, there was physical and spiritual perfection for Adam to succeed in every way just as the all sufficiency of Christ Jesus has provided for us to succeed in every way. Now let us review our primary text.
Hebrews 4:8-12 (KJV)
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
As we discovered yesterday, the word translated ‘Jesus’ in the eighth verse is properly to be interpreted as Joshua. The name ‘Jesus’ derives from the name ‘Joshua’. Joshua means Jehovah saved and Jesus means Jehovah saved. The full rest of God was forfeited on the day of sin but Jesus got it all back on the day of redemption. It is true that God provided for those who would believe on Him under the Old blood (the ‘b’ is not capitalized for it is the blood of an innocent animal) Covenant however they did not have the fulness we should be enjoying today (since Calvary). Jesus restored all that Adam had and more. The more is that we are new creations (creatures) for we are in Christ Jesus and not subject to the law of sin and death.
The law of sin and death is immediate spiritual death with sin just as we witness in Genesis the third chapter. Christians do indeed suffer the consequences of sin in their lives like stealing, destroying, and even physical death due to Unrepented or even repented sin but not spiritual death. A Christian can only suffer spiritual death with a conscious renunciation of Jesus. This does not occur in a casual fashion nor in the throes of demonic deception. Of course, one could argue very convincingly that one would have to be in deception to choose the misery of the devil and the eternal misery of Hell to follow. I can tell you this, the blood of Jesus does not come off easily and perhaps not at all.
Our text goes on to tell us that just as God rested from His works so can we rest from our works when we enter into His works (provision). Hebrews 4:11 tells us that our labor, our work, is to enter into the provision (works) of God. The text makes it clear that we enter into His rest by faith for the children of Israel and we enter not due to unbelief. The number eleven (11) can mean alignment, in this case alignment with God. Recall that the Book of Hebrews is the nineteenth Book of the New Blood Covenant and nineteen is the number of faith and four (chapter) is the number of the Anointing and anointed authority and power. Putting it all together we could say that by faith in alignment with the purposes (will) of God we enter the rest of God able to operate in the fulness of His delegated authority and power. O God is so good. What in the world are we waiting for? Why do we choose the ways of the world which is the realm of Satan? The provision (rest) of the world is never sufficient, it always comes up short, we compromise, and make statements like: “I can live with this” or “this is okay”.
Do any of us believe that God, our Heavenly Father, has an earnest desire and has provided for us to be trillionaires? Is it the will of God for His people to be poor and the heathen to prosper? What is Salomon talking about in the following passage?
Ecclesiastes 10:5-7 (KJV)
5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:
6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
Brother and sister our spiritual leaders have perpetrated the lies of Satan. Look around, fools run our nation and the nations of the world, they sit in great spiritual darkness. We who are to be rich physically and spiritually are not in the places of leadership. Those who are to be our servants are riding our horses. This is a great error and must be corrected, we are just the generation to do that, so get yea up and cross the Jordan into the rest of God.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
