THE CHURCH – HAS GOD’S WILL CHANGED?

Has the will of God changed from Adam to now? Do you want the short answer? The short answer is “NO”!

Malachi 3:6 (KJV)
⁶For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
⁸Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The self-existent eternal One and His Word have existed for all of eternity past and for all of eternity future and they change not. Let us take a look at the will of God in the beginning of this creation.

Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)
²⁶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
²⁷So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
²⁸And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:15-17 (KJV)
¹⁵And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
¹⁶And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
¹⁷But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Adam and we were given seven mandates in the beginning as follows. Notice that God gave His authority (dominion) to man over all the earth and He empowered (The Blessing) mankind to accomplish all of the will of God. Now let us review those mandates very briefly. However, in this process notice these are commands of God not holy suggestions. 1. Be fruitful, 2. To Multiply, 3. To Replenish the earth, 4. To Subdue the earth, 5. Dress the garden, 6. Guard the garden, 7. And to never mix good with evil.

Unfortunately, a day came when mankind in the image and likeness of God choose a new god and things changed dramatically for mankind but the will of God never wavered and the redemptive plan sprang into action. Jesus restored all that was lost on the day of sin for all who chose Him. Let’s review the Scriptures which secured the return of God’s authority and Power in our lives.

Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
¹⁸And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
¹⁹Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
²⁰Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Adam had authority in all the earth we have authority in Heaven and earth in Christ Jesus.

Acts 1:8 (KJV)
⁸But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And, we see here the return of the Power of God in our lives, the Blessing, the Holy Spirit. The purpose of our delegated authority and the Power of God is to fulfil the mandates, commands, of God in the earth. We now not only have the resources of the earth at our disposal but the resources of Heaven. Adam had an adversary and we have the same adversary with all his minions. The difference for us is that we are in Christ Jesus and when we sin we do not instantly die spiritually. On the Day of Sin, the curse m28a entered the earth. Adam by that sin had forfeited the most effective defenses. Now that is all regained and more to include offensive weapons in Christ Jesus. The seven original mandates are eternal and are our mandates as well to show the goodness of God. One doing the mandates of God is a witness of Jesus Christ doing the things He did and the greater things.
