GONE AWAY BACKWARDS

Greetings precious people of God and precious people of the world. Welcome back to this empowering study of the Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to move forward in our study and in our walk with God, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible. The featured picture today is from our wedding a little over two years ago. God is abundantly good to us all so let us all be abundantly good to those around us. I encourage each of us to read these studies out loud. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that faith comes by seeing. Faith comes one way and that is by hearing (Romans 10:17). We also know that it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Nothing good from the Kingdom of God happens absent faith.
The word meditate includes the idea of speaking. This word appears fourteen times in the KJV of the Bible. Fourteen is the number of deliverance and salvation. So, we could say that our speaking the Word of the Lord in faith motivated by love brings, even guarantees, our deliverance and salvation from all the curse. Consider and meditate the follow two examples.
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Who brings success into our lives? God or us? Ultimately it is God, the Father by the agency of the Holy Spirit but not until we do our part.
1 Timothy 4:15-16 (KJV)
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
The ways of God are profitable to His Covenant people. Notice it says we are to give ourselves wholly to them. Are we coming up short in this area? We must be constantly examining ourselves, our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Can we see Jesus’ thinking, talking, and acting as we think, talk, and act? Glancing back to verse fifteen we see the phrase “thy profiting may appear to all”. This profiting is not just spiritual but in the natural things as well. Some of you have heard me say many times that all things have their origin in the spiritual and there is no such thing as being spiritually rich and not naturally rich. I hope that all of this is of great interest to us all, not just to know as information, but to do as revelation.
The word meditate means to murmur (speaking under the breath), to ponder, imagine, mutter, roar, speak, study, talk, and utter according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Now, let’s move forward into the Book of Isaiah, continuing to read aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
The Lord is telling that generation and this one that they are a “sinful nation”, “a people laden with iniquity”, a seed of evildoers”, “children that are corrupters”, “they have forsaken the LORD”, they have provoked the Lord, and rather than going forward and upward they have “gone away backward”. Does this describe the modern Church, your Church, my Church? Let me make this as easy as possible, don’t get angry, get right, consider the Truth. If we are not walking in the fulness of the promises of God as found in His Word we are a sinful person, crosswise the thoughts, words, and ways of God in one or more ways (likely many ways). You know these things hit me right between the eyes as well and cause me to continually seek the face of God to be more and more like Him.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. We are getting very close to our departure date for Texas which is exciting and daunting at the same time.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
