HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD

Greetings precious friends and partners, children of the only Living God, and welcome back to this Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. As we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means possible to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Those who share play a very important role in bringing this good news to a much larger audience. The purpose of the Word of God is to transform our thinking to be like our Heavenly Father and thus we become increasingly like Jesus bringing every promise of God into our lives. As we look at the Garden of Eden, we clearly see that Gods’ original intent, which has not changed, was for us to have over-the-top extravagance just like Heaven. Let’s look at just a small sampling of Scripture establishing this, Truth.
Deuteronomy 11:20-22 (KJV)
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
Even under the Old Covenant they could have days of Heaven upon the earth if they cleaved to the Word of God. Do you think that might work for us today? Listen to the Words of Jesus.
Matthew 6:9-10 (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Jesus commanded us to pray that the will of God as it is in Heaven be upon the earth. It would be unjust and cruel for Jesus to give us this hope, this command, but it not be achievable. So, what’s the holdup? We don’t believe it! Flee from the poverty teachings and even worse the limited prosperity teachings. The wonderful picture today was taken at the Saltgrass Steak House on my birthday. Yes, that is a huge piece of chocolate cake in front of me, and no, I did not need it. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 28:12-15 (TLB)
12 They could have rest in their own land if they would obey him, if they were kind and good. He told them that, but they wouldn’t listen to him.
13 So the Lord will spell it out for them again, repeating it over and over in simple words whenever he can; yet over this simple, straightforward message they will stumble and fall and be broken, trapped and captured.
14 Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffing rulers in Jerusalem:
15 You have struck a bargain with Death, you say, and sold yourselves to the devil in exchange for his protection against the Assyrians. “They can never touch us,” you say, “for we are under the care of one who will deceive and fool them.”
Let’s look at the Words of our Master that spells out in a different way but a straightforward way the road of blessing. By the way, there is zero curse on the road of blessing.
John 15:7-10 (KJV)
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
Let’s take a moment to deal with the word ‘ask’ for this is a huge stumbling block in the body of Christ. We are sons, the Kingdom is ours, all of it, so we are not beggars, the Kingdom is at our disposal. So, the use of this word ask is more like one might ask for the potatoes to be passed or something else that is already yours. This word ‘ask’ is more like calling for something, or requiring something for an assignment, like taking a requisition to a warehouse you own. In these Words, directly from the Master again we see the key is abiding in Him, in the Word. That is how we are to live, not one foot in the Kingdom of God and one in the world. We see that fruit bearing is a mark of a disciple. What are we if we don’t bear fruit? The bearing of fruit is the goodness, the Power of the Father flowing in and through us. John 15:10 “keep my commandments” and we abide in His love. We really need to catch on to this. As I close remember love (agape, agapeo) at its core is doing the will of God, obeying His commandments. We express our love for and to Him by doing with our whole heart His commandments and He expresses His love for us by fulfilling His Word, His promises. We are then at rest in our own land.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
