IN THAT DAY THE DEAF WILL HEAR

Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Can you believe it, another month is in the rear view mirror and in two months it will be 2023, have we redeemed (made the best use of) the time?
Ephesians 5:15-19 (TLB)
15 So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don’t be fools; be wise:
16 make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good.
17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to.
18 Don’t drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him.
19 Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord.
The phrase “make the most of every opportunity” in verse 16 is “redeeming the time” in the King James Version. Like it or not, although we are eternal creations from conception, our time in the earth and for the Kingdom of God in the earth has a finite time period. What are we, each one of us, doing with that time? Before we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Those who share have a vital role in this Ministry and in the Kingdom of God. Hope you enjoy the featured picture, another fall scene taken in Maine some years ago. A wonderful time of year in Maine but followed all too quickly by winter.
Before we delve into our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah, I want us to consider a couple of things dovetail into our study.
Jeremiah 17:9-11 (KJV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
I don’t know that any of us like the idea expressed here or really want to readily admit that our heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. This is Bible, right? This is where we all start from, have we done anything to fundamentally change or are we good play actors? The word ‘heart’ in this Jeremiah text is what we call the soul, the residence of the mind, will, and emotions, a part of our spirit being. Have we replaced the ways of the world, the thoughts and words of the world with the Truth or have we adopted a religious form of the world? The Lord sees all and constantly searches, knows our heart. He tries our reins to see which way will go, the new way (His way) or the old way. Our Heavenly Father never tempts us with evil or to do evil. From the very moment of our new birth, we must be renewing our mind with the Word of God displacing the thoughts, words, and ways of the world.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Scriptural text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 29:15-19 (TLB)
15 Woe to those who try to hide their plans from God, who try to keep him in the dark concerning what they do! “God can’t see us,” they say to themselves. “He doesn’t know what is going on!”
16 How stupid can they be! Isn’t he, the Potter, greater than you, the jars he makes? Will you say to him, “He didn’t make us”? Does a machine call its inventor dumb?
17 Soon—and it will not be very long—the wilderness of Lebanon will be a fruitful field again, a lush and fertile forest.
18 In that day the deaf will hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the blind will see my plans.
19 The meek will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord, and the poor shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.
Do we forget that God sees our every thought even before we are fully aware of it, hears our every word, body language, and ways? Perhaps we don’t really believe it. Are we constantly God inside, God with me conscious?
Psalm 139:1-4 (TLB)
1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit or stand. When far away you know my every thought.
3 You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.
4 You know what I am going to say before I even say it.
If we truly believe this, why don’t we think, speak, and act better?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. In the meantime, remember that we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
