AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

INCREASE OF HIS GOVERNMENT
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Can you believe the first month is in the rearview mirror and the other eleven are looming straight ahead? Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible as we move forward to expand our reach with the Truth. God is so good; He has hidden nothing from us. The beautiful featured picture today as taken from an airplane cabin window on a recent trip. Even in this fallen state there is much beauty at least to our human eye. Before I launch into today’s teaching, I want to ask a question, I believe of the Holy Spirit. Where are the David’s of today? The David who was a shepherd boy and God chose to be King and called him a man after His own heart (1 Sam 13:14, Acts 13:22)? Now, let’s dive into our teaching for today. First let’s read our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 9:6-9 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart.
I will be picking up with verse seven today, six is included above for context. We talked about “the government shall be upon his shoulder” already and we see as we come into the seventh verse “of the increase of his government…there shall be no end”. I want to direct our attention to the fact that shoulder is in the singular and we know we and Jesus have two shoulders. Do we know what if anything is on the other shoulder? I do not have an answer, let me know if you have an answer. Government is singular in number and feminine in gender. There is but one government, one Kingdom of God, one King of kings. There are no denominations or any other division in the Kingdom of God, including in Heaven. The divisions of denominations man have imposed in the earth are not in God’s eyes. The feminine nature of government means that when operated properly with the proper seed it is capable of growth, of multiplying. Remember, this is part of the Eden mandate, God’s eternal commands for man.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Being fruitful, multiplying, replenishing the earth and subduing the earth are four of seven eternal mandates. The Word of God is always our most powerful Seed. Our only Seed, really. Even when we “sow money” we never sow it alone, it is always to be sown accompanied by the Word of God and will produce after its own kind. Now let’s move into verse seven of our primary text.
Isaiah 9:7 (KJV)
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
What is being said with the statement, speaking of the coming Messiah, that there will be no end to the increase of His government and peace. I heard one minister refer to this “increase of his government” as His ever-increasing dominance in each of our lives. Classically we have interpreted this phrase as the Kingdom of God increasing forever. I believe this to be the proper interpretation for there will come a time when we will be 100% submitted to Him. We may think, even say, that we are totally submitted to Him today but I suspect if He were to give us an actual number (percent) it would bring us to tears of sadness. Let us press on asking Him to show us the areas that are not all His that we may, with His help, repent and walk in His ways in that area.
If we are talking about the size of the government increasing and not our submission to the government our imaginations are turned loose. Are there other creations and creatures (none like us) to come or already exist over which this government will have dominion? Will there be natural peoples added to the Kingdom? Are there any natural peoples left on the earth after the final rebellion and deception of Satan? Interesting, thought provoking, allow your imaginations to be stimulated and ask the Lord to guide those imaginations.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
