AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

JUDGMENT FOR OR AGAINST
Greetings precious saints of the only Living God and welcome back to our Bible Study of the powerful Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment before I move forward to share these teachings as widely as possible. The Truth is the only thing that makes us free, not going to Church, not singing often and loud, not the traditions of the elders, or the doctrines of devils, only the Truth. The featured picture today was taken a few months ago at the County Line Restaurant here in San Antonio. Wonderful warm homemade bread and delicious BBQ. Do we, the Church, the body of Christ, Christians, understand, take seriously, and do the following verse? As I listen to pulpit and pew alike it is apparent that in many cases, we are giving lip service to this verse (like many others) but not doing it. Let’s change that!
2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We are to get all worldly talk out of our thoughts, speech and actions. All means all, nothing excluded. You may say “that’s a little fanatical Dr. Wood”. Well, what do we want in our lives, the curse or the blessing? Do we want to be acting on the tree of the knowledge of evil or the knowledge of good? Most of us are mixing the two so we get little to no supernatural fruit and the curse has free reign in our lives all the while we are confessing the Blessing. We can confess the Blessing until the cows come home but if we don’t align our thoughts, words, and ways with God He (the Blessing) will not be operating in our life. Let’s think, meditate on the following passage and how does it apply to me, to you.
Luke 6:45-46 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Remember, the evil man and the bringing forth of that which is evil is talking about those who confess Jesus as Lord (you and me). The curse and everything associated with the curse is evil! Again, read Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight carefully. Now, let’s turn our attention to our text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 8:1-4 (KJV)
1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
Wow, how would we like to be named Mahershalalhashbaz? As you have noticed the speaker is once again Isaiah, God speaking through Isaiah. Isaiah’s wife is a prophet (prophetess) as well. She conceives and the name of the child reflects the judgment of God upon the people, the land. Take a look at this first verse in the Message Bible.
Isaiah 8:1 (MSG)
1 Then GOD told me, “Get a big sheet of paper and write in indelible ink, ‘This belongs to Maher-shalal-hash-baz (Spoil-Speeds-Plunder-Hurries).’ ”
All of God’s people are under an adverse judgment due to their choice to sin, to ignore, to turn away from Jehovah God. Be reminded again as to how this all started.
Isaiah 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
This judgment is not because of the evil of the heathen but the evil of the people of God. Dear ones you may rebel against the Truth but it is the same right now in America and around the world. There is a rising remnant however great judgment is at the door of the Church without repentance. As a side-note before I finish. Judgment can be favorable or unfavorable. In this case (Isaiah) the judgment is unfavorable due to sin, hardened hearts and stiffened necks just like the Church today. However, there are good judgments when an individual or a group or the whole-body walks in obedience.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
