GIFTS – PART ONE HUNDRED-EIGHT
ARMOR OF GOD – PART FIFTY
HAVING DONE ALL

Greetings dear and precious saints, children of our Heavenly Father and welcome back to our Bible Study of the “Gifts” of God currently focused on “The Armor of God”. Without knowledge of the armor and its proper use we are wolf or lion bait. Getting saved is the first and easiest step in the Kingdom of God. Just like getting hired on a job, that is the first and easiest step. After the first step comes the carrying out of many obligations, responsibilities, and then the reaping of the benefits of obedience to the Policy and Procedure Manuel (Bible). The devil is constantly on the prowl to see whom he may (we give the permission) devour.
1 Peter 5:5-8 (KJV)
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Are we submitting to those in authority both in and out of the Church? Have we on purpose clothed ourselves with humility? Have we completely submitted ourselves to God, to the leadership of the Holy Spirit? Have we cast ALL of our cares onto the Lord? Are we sober and vigilant? If we answer ‘no’ to any one of these questions we are in the process of being devoured whether we know it yet or not. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary text in the wonderful Book of Ephesians and see a little more about the whole armor of God. You are reading out loud, right?
Ephesians 6:11-15 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Did you notice the word “wherefore” at the beginning of verse thirteen and a repeat of the command to take unto ourselves the whole armor of God? Seems like God sees this armor as very important, therefore it is to be very important to us. Obedience is the order of the day, every day, all day. The word ‘wherefore’ can also be interpreted ‘through’. Through what? Through the whole armor of God, we can stand in the evil day. Look at this thirteenth verse in the Message Bible.
Ephesians 6:13 (MSG)
13 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.
When we have done all that we can do, God makes up the difference for our victory. However, if we do not do our part, He will not step in. We may not like that, but that is the Truth. We always have a part and He is inactive until we do our part. He is not controlling everything in our lives or the world, we have a critical role. If I can use a gun metaphor, we are the trigger, that sets the power of God in motion. Of course, this must be in faith, motivated of love (agape), absent doubt, and led of the Holy Spirit. It is never the will of God for us to suffer defeat, He has provided more than enough for our victory if we will choose His way (His thoughts, His Words, His ways). Unsaid in the text but trust, trusting God, is essential. It is also essential that we only consider God, His Word and not what our natural senses and unrenewed mind and emotions tell us. Remember Peter.
Matthew 14:28-31 (KJV)
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
