LIFE IN HEAVEN – PART NINETEEN

TIME FRAME FOUR
Genesis 3:6 to Hebrews 1:3
What an exciting study of Life in Heaven. All of us who are born again are going there sooner or later to show the goodness, the glory of God. What a day that will be. Can you imagine the wonder that one experiences in just the first few seconds of that wonderous transition? I use references to time to give us who are still in a temporal world a frame of reference. The reality is that all of us saved or not are on an eternal continuum with a very brief earthly experience that determines not only how we spend the rest of eternity but how many around about us spend eternity. Thank you, Lord, for your goodness to all peoples and especially we your children. Thank you for the Word of God that delivers to us all the snares of the enemy by our faith. I am still teaching about time frame four in this series “Life in Heaven”. This time period is from sin (Genesis 3:6) until the resurrected Jesus taking His innocent blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven (Hebrews 1:3). Next, I am going to discuss the coming of the Word (Jesus) into the earth leaving His seat at the right hand of the Father in Heaven empty. The angel Gabriel (an archangel) announces to the Virgin Mary that she will be the natural mother to carry the holy Child, Jesus, let’s listen in.
Luke 1:35 (ESV)
35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.
It is clear from the text that although this child will grow in the womb of Mary as all other natural children grow in the wombs of their mothers the conception will not be by a man. Hebrews 10:5 tells us that God prepared the body of Jesus in the womb of Mary. This was a supernatural event with no natural component. The body of Jesus was formed from the earth just as that of Adam. The body of Jesus (male gender) could not be taken from the body of Mary since she was female. A female has two X chromosomes giving them the characteristics and capacities of a female but no Y chromosome which imparts male characteristics and capacities. Remember that Jesus is the last Adam and was formed just as the first Adam. The spirit (immaterial part) of the first Adam was of God and the spirit (immaterial part) of the last Adam was not only of God but was God. Just as the first Adam could not function as God even though he was in the god class neither could Jesus once He laid those powers aside which are unique to God (Philippians 2:7) on His way to the womb of Mary. When I say function as God or unique to God I am talking about what is different between us and God. God (capital G, we are little g’s) is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (everywhere present), and omniscient (all knowing).
John 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 (KJV)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
This is a little clearer in other Bible Translations.
John 1:14 (GW)
14 The Word became human and lived among us. We saw his glory. It was the glory that the Father shares with his only Son, a glory full of kindness and truth.
Let’s go ahead with this most significant account.
Luke 2:6-7 (KJV)
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:21 (KJV)
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
As I prepare to close for today I want us all to go away with a clarity in our mind about the coming of Christ (Messiah, Anointed One) into the earth which occurs in the fourth time period of our study of “Life in Heaven”. What changed in Heaven was that Jesus, the Word, was absent from Heaven. The person who was in Heaven and left Heaven was God in every aspect but did not arrive in the earth as God. Jesus arrived in the earth fully as human as the next baby. He did not arrive with all of the knowledge of God. He matured and learned as do all others and over time came to understand who He was, His earthly mother and father had been told who He was and that was no doubt imparted to Him. As a result, He studied the Scriptures voraciously.
Luke 2:40 (KJV)
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
We see this learning process noted in the preceding Scripture. Also, notice that Jesus was filled with wisdom and grace was upon Him. Both the words “wisdom” and “grace” should be capitalized for they are different facets of Holy Spirit. Jesus came into the earth full and overflowing with Holy Spirit just as the first Adam.
Hebrews 9:14 (KJV)
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
The Eternal Spirit is Holy Spirit and assisted Him in every aspect of His mission upon the earth. Jesus was not baptized in Holy Spirit at the River Jordan when He was water baptized by John the Baptist. No, that is when He was fully commissioned to proceed with His earthly ministry. Rabbi’s are not released into ministry on their own until they are age thirty and prosperous (able to sustain themselves). Isn’t this Word just so wonderful!
Until our next publication, confess the following passage and walk before Whom we have to do with great rejoicing and thanksgiving. This physical body is our humiliation but soon it will be no more for the glory of God and our eternal benefit.
John 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
