Thursday – December 21, 2023, Tevet 9, 5784
Good morning or good day dear saints of God and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to plunge into our study, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Can you believe it, this year is nearly spent, did we spend it well?
Ephesians 5:15-17 (KJV)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
The term “redeeming the time” means to use the time wisely. Does this passage describe you and me?
Also, don’t forget that I have published several books which would make wonderful Christmas presents, order through Amazon (3 formats available). This late you may need to consider the audiobook and the e-book. The link is available at the end of the teaching. The featured picture is of Donna and me a year or so ago at Olive Garden. As you know, many of our pictures are at restaurants.
Please Read and take action: Yesterday I mentioned a declining number of shares of the daily blog, The Three Minute Word. I asked that if you are receiving and reading these Bible teaching that you share them and apply an appropriate emoji and a brief comment. This will bring these teachings before more people. Thank you for taking action.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text New International Version (NIV) continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 48:16-20 (NIV)
16 “Come near me and listen to this: “From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there.” And now the Sovereign LORD has sent me, with his Spirit.
17 This is what the LORD says– your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
18 If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
19 Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be cut off nor destroyed from before me.”
20 Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.”
Before we move forward, I want to drop back a verse and look at something we did not fully explore.
Isaiah 48:15 (KJV)
15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
Does this sound familiar at all? Remember, I showed you the following verse when we were talking about the success of King Cyrus.
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
What brings God into our situation? Love (get my book)! Notice in Isaiah 48:15 that God says, Cyrus will make his way (Cyrus’) prosperous. As we end for the week be reminded of this Truth, for all people for all time and that includes us.
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Who was going to make Joshuas’ way prosperous? Joshua! How? Love, doing the Word of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Tuesday, the day after Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas remembering and celebrating that it is the celebration of the Christ. We love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
