YOUR ATTENTION AND ACTION PLEASE: The last two days I have pointed out that the numbers of shares has been declining for this blog. I have asked that those who read this blog regularly please not only share it but apply whatever emoji applies and make a brief comment, even if it is only one word. The response has been dismal, zero! If you have an interest in these teachings and in them continuing let us know by responding when we ask. There are a very small core of people who share and make comments on a regular basis, a few more apply emoji’s regularly and others intermittently. If you are benefiting from the teachings please share, apply an emoji, and a brief comment. Thank you.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text from 1st John picking up with the second chapter continuing to read out loud.
1 John 2:1-6 (KJV)
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Wow, Christmas is knocking at the door, a wonderful celebration of the coming, the birth, of our Savior, without whom we were destined for destruction. Yesterday I left off with the revelation that we are not required or doomed to sin; it is always a choice. It is a choice whether in ignorance or in full knowledge. Let me point out that all (saint and sinner) have a conscience and those born again have the Holy Spirit within. Some have seared their conscience and must work to make it tender again, that occurs by the walk of love (agapē/agapaō). For the saint the walk of love is powerful in not choosing sin as well as studying to reduce ignorance. Sin is a violation of Blood Covenant.
The Apostle John’s next statement brings great encouragement and hope but is never to be seen as an excuse or free pass. Using it as a free pass so to speak is tempting God and is sin. Jesus Christ is our advocate with the Father. You might think of an advocate as a defense attorney. This word, advocate, transliterated from Greek to English as paraklētos meaning an intercessor, consoler, advocate, and comforter according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. You might think of it as one who comes along side to speak in support of. Listen to how the writer of Hebrews moved by the Holy Spirit addresses this issue.
Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV)
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
I can’t speak for you but I know that I need truck loads of mercy and grace just about every day and the Lord never runs out and graciously corrects me.

On a personal note, today would have been Patti’s 78th birthday. Birthdays are meaningless now as she rejoices in Heaven enjoying the wonder, we all are seeking.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday before this year is entirely spent.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
