MORE ABOUT FEAR AND MOSES
Tuesday – May 15, 2018, Sivan 1, 5778

Behold, the Lord is standing at the door and knocking with these teachings, do you hear Him, have you invited Him in to sup with you, to be nourished and strengthened? Welcome back to this faith building teaching from the Book of Hebrews. Now, let’s read aloud our primary text and jump right back into the meat of the teaching.
Hebrews 11:23-27 (KJV)
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Yesterday I left off talking about how Moses’ parents were not in fear and that lack of fear, and the presence of love, saved the life of Moses and brought the redemptive plan of God forward. By way of a reminder, fear is a symptom indicating that faith is not present, and the power of faith is love. By way of review let’s review the following, hopefully, familiar Scriptures.
Galatians 5:6 (KJV)
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Bold added)
Romans 14:23 (KJV)
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Bold added)
Over and over again Scripture, the Word, tells us to “fear not”. Do we figure He is just filling space or should we prick our ears up and follow the command to fear not? What would have happened to Jairus’ daughter had Jairus given in to fear? She would have stayed graveyard dead!
Mark 5:23 (KJV)
23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
Jairus had heard about the wonderful things of the Kingdom and healings at the hands of Jesus. Do people have that same testimony of us? This leader of the Synagogue makes his faith decree with “she shall live” and does not say another word throughout this whole episode. Can we see ourselves in this example? There is someone who will always bring an evil report.
Mark 5:35-36 (KJV)
35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Jesus only response is to tell Jairus to not be afraid and to hang onto his faith. Does Jairus love God or not, it was sorely being tested that day. Jairus knew that his God was his healer, and he knew he was in Covenant with this healing God. Jairus did not enter into Egypt, sin, unbelief and the absence of love but clung to his statement of faith (love in action) and it sustained his faith. Are we as convinced as Jairus and other peoples in the Faith Hall of Fame of the veracity of God’s Word? Let’s continue with this marvelous account of unwavering faith and the goodness and love of God.
Mark 5:39-42 (KJV)
39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
When Jesus stepped into that house and declared (decreed) that the “the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth” she was made every bit whole. When Jesus stepped into that room and said “Talitha cumi” He was awaking her from sleep not death. Isn’t the Scripture absolutely wonderful? Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Until our next publication, I speak this Scriptural prayer for your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
