MOREOVER THE LORD SPAKE AGAIN

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this Anointed study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear ones to give us His Word, to show us Himself, and how we are to walk. Of course, we have freewill and we can choose Gods’ wonderful and abundant path or the devil’s path of destruction. We think we are choosing our own path but that is the height of deception, either self-deception or deception of the devils. Before we move on further, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible. The featured picture today was taken last fall on a day of leaf peeping and fellowship with wonderful friends. We cannot say it often enough, our God is just so good! I am writing this on the 25th of October and last evening we had the privilege of attending A Night to Honor Israel at Cornerstone Church here in San Antonio. Honoring Israel which is to bless them (to highly value) and minister to them in the carnal things (yes, money) comes with God’s Word that He will bless us. That blessing comes to nations, groups (like the Church), and individuals.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
This applies to us, for we are Abraham’s seed.
Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
We have a duty, each and every one of us to minister one way or another to the Jewish people. Each of us will answer to God as to what we did with this responsibility and privilege to bless the Jewish people and minister to them in the carnal things.
Romans 15:27 (KJV)
27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
To take the position that we as New Testament believers have no connection and no obligation to the Jews and Israel is a grave mistake. Our responsibility before God is more than an occasional obligatory prayer. There are no neutral middle ground dear saints. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Isaiah Bible text and continue reading aloud.
Isaiah 7:10-16 (KJV)
10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,
11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
The Lord speaking through His Prophet tells King Ahaz that he can prove the words he is hearing by asking for a sign. Remember, in this day not everyone had the Holy Spirit available to them for an inner witness nor did they have all the Scripture we have today. However, receiving, asking for, a confirming sign from the Lord is far different than testing or tempting the Lord. In one case the person is wanting be sure they are hearing clearly, in the other they are questioning the very existence of God. Testing or tempting the Lord is unbelief, it is doubt, it is sin. It appears on the surface that we have a conundrum here but we do not. First let’s go to the command not to test the Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:16 (KJV)
16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
So, what was the issue at Massah?
Exodus 17:7 (KJV)
7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not? (Bold added)
They were doubting God’s very existence. This is clearly not what is going on when the Lord offers King Ahaz a sign. Focused on the Exodus 17:7 Scripture. These people coming out of bondage in Egypt had seen God bring about the 10 plagues, and the rolling back of the Red Sea with the destruction of the most powerful army in the world at the time. Back to our text. King Ahaz declines to have God perform a sign which I believe pleased the Lord to no end. Notice that King Ahaz immediately goes into a Messianic prophecy (verses 14, 15, 16). Notice that the Lord declared through King Ahaz that the coming Messiah would come by way of a virgin, and His name will be Immanuel. In verse 16 we see that at the time of His coming there will be no king in Israel or Judah. We know that is because they are occupied by Rome.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
