MY CHOSEN ONE

Good morning (or whenever you are reading) dear and precious saints of God, friends and partners of this Ministry alike. Before I move forward, I want to extend an invitation to all who are not to become partners with this Ministry. There is more information concerning partnership at the conclusion of this teaching. And don’t forget I have several books I have written and are available on Amazon.

Welcome back to this dynamic teaching of the wonderful and precious Bible Book of Isaiah. Please pause for a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is of a male and female cardinal at a bird feeder. This beautiful picture was taken by Marilyn Stevens. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 42:1-5 (TLB)
1 “See my servant, whom I uphold; my Chosen One in whom I delight. I have put my Spirit upon him; he will reveal justice to the nations of the world.
2 He will be gentle—he will not shout nor quarrel in the streets.
3 He will not break the bruised reed, nor quench the dimly burning flame. He will encourage the fainthearted, those tempted to despair. He will see full justice given to all who have been wronged.
4 He won’t be satisfied until truth and righteousness prevail throughout the earth, nor until even distant lands beyond the seas have put their trust in him.”
5 The Lord God who created the heavens and stretched them out, who created the earth and everything in it, who gives life and breath and spirit to everyone in all the world, he is the one who says [to his Servant, the Messiah],
As we enter this new chapter we see that God is speaking through His servant, the Prophet Isaiah, of the coming Messiah, the Christ, the One we call Jesus. Don’t you think this portion of Scripture shared sounds a little like Isaiah 61? That which Jesus stood to read in the Synagogue when He started His earthly ministry. Let’s take a look at the first verse in the KJV.
Isaiah 42:1 (KJV)
1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Because of Jesus Jew and Gentile alike have access to the Father through Christ Jesus. This passage is quoted in the New Testament related to the Ministry of Jesus.
Matthew 12:14-18 (TLB)
14 Then the Pharisees called a meeting to plot Jesus’ arrest and death.
15 But he knew what they were planning and left the synagogue, with many following him. He healed all the sick among them,
16 but he cautioned them against spreading the news about his miracles.
17 This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him:
18 “Look at my Servant. See my Chosen One. He is my Beloved, in whom my soul delights. I will put my Spirit upon him, And he will judge the nations.
As I end for today let’s deal with the phrase “I will put my Spirit upon him”. If Jesus was operating as God, would it have been necessary for the Father to put the Holy Spirit upon Him? Let’s see a different writer with the same observation.
Acts 10:38 (TLB)
38 And you no doubt know that Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with power, and he went around doing good and healing all who were possessed by demons, for God was with him.
Why would God have needed to be with Him if He were operating as God? Now let’s go to the river Jordan.
Matthew 3:16-17 (TLB)
16 After his baptism, as soon as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God coming down in the form of a dove.
17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, and I am wonderfully pleased with him.”
Here we see Jesus being fully equipped for stepping into His Ministry role with the Anointing, the Holy Spirit, upon Him. It is no different with us dear ones, we are only able to fully execute our God assigned Ministry with the help of the Helper, the Holy Spirit.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Notice the Holy Spirit not only filled them but was upon them.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

PRAYERS AND QUESTIONS – please contact us and we will respond. Our goal is to build a solid foundation upon which children of God can become sons of God, stand and do exploits in Jesus’ name.
PARTNERSHIP AND GIVING – Those of you who are not Partners of this Ministry and you find this ministry to be of value to you and perhaps others with whom you share it, we ask you to consider becoming Partners. A Partner is one who prays for the Ministry on a regular basis and contributes to the Ministry on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually). Thank you and may the Lord be pleased with your decision.
