Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. One cannot study this Bible Book or for that matter much of the Bible without coming away with the knowledge that man has a freewill and makes decisions to his or her own detriment or benefit. Leaders may make decisions at all levels that brings good or evil throughout the congregation, community, state, or nation. God gave freewill starting right at the get go.
Genesis 1:26 (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Bold added)
God will not control our decisions and the devil cannot. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. These teachings are going all over the world dear ones, be a part of that. We have readers in eastern Europe, the middle east, western Africa, Central America, and throughout the United States. The featured picture today was provided by Marilyn Stevens just prior to Hurricane Lee passing by Maine. Marilyn takes really beautiful pictures especially of birds but all wildlife.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:1-5 (NIV)
1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
2 look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.
3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
I left off last Thursday talking about verse four of our text. Today we will move forward into the fifth verse. In this particular case the righteousness, the salvation, and the arm of God are all the same person. He (Jehovah) is speaking of the Messiah, Jesus. Righteousness has not only to do with right standing with God the Father, but doing things His way, and expecting and doing justice. The Apostle Paul tells us that Jesus had been made unto us righteousness. Said another way, we cannot be righteous independent of Him.
1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Look at this same verse in the NIV.
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NIV)
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good and He is nothing but good, He is just, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
