Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating and stimulating Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to dive into this wonderful Book please take a moment and share as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is a stock photo of a newsroom. This is to represent one of the seven pillars of society, the pillar of media and all information technologies. I suspect you are very much aware that whoever controls the various means of communicating controls the message as well. Let us pray for righteousness to invade this sphere of influence. God is not going to “sovereignly” invade this sphere, although He has the Power He does not have the authority. He will raise up men and women through which to work, perhaps you are called to this arena. As you know I have been encouraging us all to pray for two of the seven pillars namely the government and the Church but now I am expanding by the will of God for us to pray for all seven pillars. Our desire is for men and women of God, not the heathen, and certainly not the anti-God people, to control these seven gates.
Proverbs 9:1 (KJV)
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
You may have also heard these pillars referred to as mountains or spheres of influence. All of these are talking about the same thing. Jesus destroyed all of the enemies’ legal right to occupy these gates and it is our job to enforce that victory and occupy the high ground so to speak. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 42:8-12 (CJB)
8 I am Adonai; that is my name. I yield my glory to no one else, nor my praise to any idol.
9 See how the former predictions come true; and now new things do I declare — before they sprout I tell you about them.”
10 Sing to Adonai a new song! Let his praise be sung from the ends of the earth by those sailing the sea and by everything in it, by the coastlands and those living there.
11 Let the desert and its cities raise their voices, the villages where Kedar lives; let those living in Sela shout for joy; let them cry out from the mountaintops!
12 Let them give glory to Adonai and proclaim his praise in the coastlands.
Today I am presenting our text out of the Complete Jewish Bible. Part of my purpose in using various translations or paraphrases is that one may bring an idea forward more clearly than another. The other reason is to expose my readers to the various Bible translations or paraphrases. You may recall that the One we call Father since Jesus (YHWH), the self-existent eternal One, is who is talking and called Adonai in this translation. He is talking to His people, a commercial if you will, to call them back to Him and away from the arm of flesh and their own reasonings and rebellion.
The glory God is His manifested goodness whether that be the cloud by day or the fire by night or a person healed and so on. The apex (peak), the pinnacle (high point, peak, zenith), of His goodness of course is the coming of Jesus the Christ. It is a slap in our Lords face to attribute His goodness (glory) to anything or anyone other than Him. Once we attribute what He has done to another we have transferred the responsibility for maintaining it to the other. Perhaps this will explain why some lose a healing, financial success, or any other good thing.
Praise is declaring who or what someone is in our eyes, in Truth. We commonly hear people repeatedly say things like “I praise you, Lord; I praise you Lord” over and over but never say what it is they are praising Him for. A simple example I have used for years to distinguish between thanksgiving, praise, and worship, is as follows. Someone gives you a piece of cake and you say “thank you so much for the cake”. Perhaps you would go on to praise them saying “you are a really good cake maker”. Finally in full appreciation you may say “what can I do for you?” So, what would this look like? “Lord thank you for providing salvation, I praise you my Savior, and I worship you in obedience and service to you.
Adonai goes on to tell them, if what I told you in the past came to pass would you not believe that what I have now said would also come to pass? Certainly new things were coming their way, for example the Messiah and we also have new things on the horizon like the Catching Away and so on. We will see this repeated in the next chapter so we must conclude that we are to give it our utmost attention.

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
