PERFECT PEACE

Greetings precious friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to our ongoing teaching from the Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book! Before we move any further, please take a moment and share this teaching by every means available to you expanding our reach with the Truth. Those of you who share are a very important part of this Ministry. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today was provided by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. This picture seemed to be a good match for the title of this teaching, “Perfect Peace”. Thank you so much Joe for your beautiful pictures. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah and of course continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 26:1-4 (KJV)
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Yesterday I discussed the first two verses at some length and today we will venture into the third and fourth verses which have ministered to me on many occasions. I am not talking about spouting off a verse or two but remaining in the same distress and chaos. I am talking about a very real change in the atmosphere and the mind. Distress and chaos with the return of peace and focus on the Lord and His promises. Notice that the peace is dependent upon where our mind is focused. Are we focused on the distressing issue or upon the Lord and His wonderful solutions, real solutions? Are we responding as the world has taught us or are we responding as a son of God? Are we responding like Jesus, Christ like? The following Scripture sprang to mind as I was writing.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Remember from the prior verses in Isaiah that we have the “walls and bulwarks” of salvation. The only things that can truly hurt us as the things we give permission to hurt us. The devils of course are busy day and not threatening to hurt us one way or the other but it is all a lie unless we give him place. Let us be like Jesus.
John 14:30 (KJV)
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
Have we given the “prince of this world” a place in us by our thoughts and words or can we like Jesus say right to his face, you have nothing in me! Where are our predominant thoughts? Is my mind, is your mind stayed or focused on Him, His Word, being fully persuaded? Take a moment to absorb the following Truth.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Which one sounds best to you? We will have the one we spend our time focused upon. It is our choice. God will not make us think upon anything, and the devils can’t. We choose our thought life and that thought life determines our peace and the course of our lives.
Proverbs 4:20-24 (NLT)
20 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words.
21 Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart,
22 for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
24 Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.
What do we believe, trust the most, the lies of the devils or the Words of God? When we trust in the Lord, in His Word, our mind is focused, stayed, on Him and peace is ours.
Lord willing tomorrow I will pick up here and I will once again discuss peace and the perfect expression of peace.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
