RETURN O CHURCH

Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to our study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. How will we profit? Do we have ears to hear? Are we receiving the Word of God to understand, believe, and do? Consider the following.
Mark 4:23-25 (KJV)
23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
Revelation 2:7 (KJV)
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
James 1:22-26 (KJV)
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
Are we hearing the Word time after time, getting excited even, giving the speaker our amen but then not put a bit of it to work? Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with the Truth. The featured picture today is of Donna and me a few years ago at the Celebrate Jesus Church in Pittsfield, Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 31:5-9 (AMP)
5 Like birds hovering, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; He will protect and deliver it, He will pass over and spare and preserve it.
6 Return, O children of Israel, to Him against Whom you have so deeply plunged into revolt.
7 For in that day every man of you will cast away [in contempt and disgust] his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which your own hands have sinfully made for you.
8 Then the Assyrian shall fall by a sword not of man; and a sword, not of men [but of God], shall devour him. And he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be subjected to forced labor.
9 [In his flight] he shall pass beyond his rock [refuge and stronghold] because of terror; even his officers shall desert the standard in fear and panic, says the Lord, Whose fire is in Zion and Whose furnace is in Jerusalem.
The Lord was pleading with them and He pleads with His Church today to return to Him, let Him be our God, our protector, our deliverer, and the One who preserves us. The Lord invited them and is now inviting us to cast away our idols our false gods. As we evaluate verse eight with spiritual ears and eyes our thought may go to the following Scripture.
2 Kings 19:35 (KJV)
35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
As I finish for today let’s examine verse nine.
Isaiah 31:9 (TLB)
9 Even their generals will quake with terror and flee when they see the battle flags of Israel,” says the Lord. For the flame of God burns brightly in Jerusalem.
Are our spiritual enemies fleeing from us? Does the “flame of God” burn brightly at my house, at your house? Do we really understand that we have the keys of the Kingdom of God, that whatever we lose or bind is backed by Heaven.
Matthew 16:19 (KJV)
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
