Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the precious Bible Book of Isaiah. By the way Happy Valentines Day. Valentine was actually a person who promoted marriage. Now to our Study. One cannot study this Bible Book of Isaiah or for that matter much of the Bible without coming away with the knowledge that man has a freewill and makes decisions to his or her own detriment or benefit. Leaders may make decisions at all levels that brings good or evil throughout the congregation, community, state, or nation. God gave freewill starting right from the get go.
Genesis 1:26 (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Bold added)
God will not control our decisions and the devil cannot. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:4-7 (NIV)
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.
7 “Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults.
God is all about justice and the demons and evil people are all about injustice. There is an, it’s all about me mentality, that is of the devil. Love (agapē/agapaō) is never about me primarily, it is all about you, the other person. Loving God is all about God, loving our neighbor is all about the neighbor, and loving ourselves all about loving God and our neighbor. Let’s each of us get ourselves off our minds. From the standpoint of Isaiah, that timeframe, Jesus was on the way, from our timeframe He has come. Jesus has been made righteousness or become for us righteousness.
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NIV)
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
We are not righteous in and off ourselves due to anything we have done or could do, so He did it for us.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
This is commonly called the great exchange, our sin for His righteousness.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow and we will look at the wonderful reality of salvation.
