Thursday – February 15, 2024, Adar Aleph 6, 5784
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the precious Bible Book of Isaiah. By the way Happy Valentines Day. Valentine was actually a person who promoted marriage. Now to our Study. One cannot study this Bible Book of Isaiah or for that matter much of the Bible without coming away with the knowledge that man has a freewill and makes decisions to his or her own detriment or benefit. Leaders may make decisions at all levels that brings good or evil throughout the congregation, community, state, or nation. God gave freewill starting right from the get go.
Genesis 1:26 (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Bold added)
God will not control our decisions and the devil cannot. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:4-7 (NIV)
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.
7 “Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults.
Isaiah is looking forward to the Church Age and beyond, we are looking back at the Redemption, the beginning of the Church Age. Adam had all that salvation promises and provides for us. Now let’s look at the word salvation from our Hebrew text which is not different than salvation in the Greek. The Hebrew word transliterates to English as yēshaʿ meaning liberty, deliverance, prosperity, safety according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Oh no, the word prosperity is in the definition! The root word is transliterated from Hebrew to English as yāshaʿ meaning properly to be open, wide or free, to be safe, causative to free or succor, avenging, defend, deliver (-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), and get victory according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
Why in the world did we think and others still do that the devil, the world, has a better deal than this? For example, does the devil avenge his people? No, he steals, kills things in their life and them if he can, and destroys all he can. He hates people, period. God loves us!
