THE SHED BLOOD GIVES ETERNAL LIFE – THE BROKEN BODY GIVES US DIVINE HEALTH AND A RESURRECTION BODY

Greetings and welcome to a “Special Easter Message and Communion”. What is more important to commemorate than the Resurrection of the Christ? Where would we be without the Resurrection? We would be in the same place as Adam fallen. I got thinking earlier about, how is the date of Easter determined year to year? Well, it seems it has to do with lunar and solar cycles around Passover putting Easter between the 22nd of March and the 25th of April according to Wikipedia. The computation leading to the observed date is called “computes paschalis”.
Then I wondered, why does the date change from year to year? We don’t change the observed date of Jesus’ birth from year to year. It is always the 25th of December no matter what day of the week it falls on. Let’s look at a few Scriptures concerning the Resurrection of Christ and then move to the Communion Table. First, we see the two Mary’s coming to the tomb before dawn.
Mark 16:5-6 (KJV)
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
He is risen and because He is risen, we also shall rise. He paid the price of eternal life for the spirit man and an immortal physical body.
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus dealt with the sin problem and for all that receive Him sin is forever blotted out. As a result, we have eternal life and will soon have a glorified body.
Philippians 3:21 (KJV)
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Now, let’s move to the Communion Table.
1 Corinthians 11:27-31 (KJV)
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1st judge – determine right or wrong
2nd judge – to determine a consequence
Let’s take communion.
Luke 22:15-20 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Thank you, Jesus, for paying the price of my sin giving me everlasting life and a brand-new body like unto yours. Lord teach me how to build the family name as a son in the Kingdom of God.
Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
