FRUITFUL OR ABOUT TO FORFEIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD?

Greetings dear saints of God and any who will become saints of God. The Bible calls all those who belong to God saints, both Old and New Testament. God is so good dear ones, saints. In the New Covenant, in Christ Jesus we are sons of God, joint heirs of the entire Kingdom of God, we are priests unto our God, we are kings under the King of Kings Jesus the Christ. This is not only for the “sweet by and by” but right now, this is all ours, are you walking in it by faith. Remember, all is by faith in love. We cannot please the Father without faith (Hebrews 11:6) and the power of faith is love (agapē)(Galatians 5:6). All physical manifestation as its origin in the spiritual. Now, to our study of the Kingdom of God and our anchor Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Do we see this as a command or a laudable (praiseworthy, admirable, commendable) goal? It is a command. If the Lord Jesus said it, commanded it, in His earthly Ministry and He only said what the Father told Him to say we are fully able. It would be unjust for God to command something we are incapable of doing, not authorized to do, not equipped to do. Is our God unjust? To be just is synonymous with being righteous. Is our God righteous? Moving forward.
Matthew 21:42-46 (KJV)
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
This passage of Scripture is a part of a parable outlining stewardship responsibility. I will get back to more of the parable as we go along because it is very important for you and me today. Notice the chief priests and Pharisees wanted to do Jesus harm but were afraid. As we walk in obedience to the Word of God led of the Spirit in our assignments we are likewise protected.
Deuteronomy 28:10 (KJV)
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
Does everybody see that you are “called by the name of the LORD”? If they do, they will be afraid, that is the ones who stand in opposition. Back to our text. The Stone is Jesus, builders in this text are the religious leaders of the day and they indeed rejected Jesus. Jesus became the cornerstone of a new nation, the Church.
Matthew 21:43 (KJV)
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
This rejection by the Jews brought the creation of the Church. That is not to say the Jew is excluded, not at all, we are grafted into the same root, and they have been broken off. With declaring Jesus as Lord anyone Jew or Gentile will be grafted into the root which is Christ Jesus.
TAKE HOME:
- Jesus is the cornerstone of the Church, the “stone” the builders rejected, the Savior of all who will come to Him.
- Do people know by whose name you are called, the name of the LORD? Those that oppose you, are they afraid?
- Are you a good steward or a bad steward? Are gaining treasure for Heaven in the Kingdom of God or have you been slothful?
Lord willing, I will resume right here next Saturday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
