SPIRIT OF JUSTICE

Greeting dear and precious saints of God and we greet those who are not yet saints of God. Welcome to our Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. This is the third of the four teachings from Isaiah this week. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. This helps us tremendously to disseminate the gospel, the best news anyone has ever heard. Receiving the gospel, and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or rejecting the gospel and Him is the difference between life and death, the blessing and the curse, and exponentially more important Heaven and Hell. The featured picture today was taken, I believe, at Smalls Falls of Donna and me on one of our many trips to and from Rangeley Maine. We like the teens are doing selfies. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 28:5-8 (AMP)
5 [But] in that [future Messianic] day the Lord of hosts shall become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the [converted] remnant of His people,
6 And a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment and administers the law, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
7 But even these reel from wine and stagger from strong drink: the priest and the prophet reel from strong drink; they are confused from wine, they stagger and are gone astray through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble when pronouncing judgment.
8 For all the tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no place that is clean.
The Prophet Isaiah is continuing to talk about Israel in that wonderful day to come when Jesus will be recognized and received as Lord and Savior (Messiah). This is during and at the end of the Tribulation period. The Prophetic Books including this one can be difficult to understand at times and therefore I am presenting the same Scriptures in various translations.
Isaiah 28:5-8 (NLT)
5 Then at last the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will himself be Israel’s glorious crown. He will be the pride and joy of the remnant of his people.
6 He will give a longing for justice to their judges. He will give great courage to their warriors who stand at the gates.
7 Now, however, Israel is led by drunks who reel with wine and stagger with alcohol. The priests and prophets stagger with alcohol and lose themselves in wine. They reel when they see visions and stagger as they render decisions.
8 Their tables are covered with vomit; filth is everywhere.
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is no less than Jesus the Christ and He will be the glorious crown of Israel. The crown is the symbol of rank, the One of highest authority in this case (aside from Father God). Justice will reign in Israel in that day and her warriors second to none. However, at that time and until Messiah is recognized and comes priest and prophet alike in Israel walk in great error. Their judgments are full of error for they were deceived and missed the Messiah for a season (two thousand years). The Lord says this is as vomit and filth everywhere. Very graphic picture and not the least bit flattering. Let’s move forward a little further in our Isaiah text.
Isaiah 28:9-12 (NLT)
9 “Who does the LORD think we are?” they ask. “Why does he speak to us like this? Are we little children, just recently weaned?
10 He tells us everything over and over—one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!”
11 So now God will have to speak to his people through foreign oppressors who speak a strange language!
12 God has told his people, “Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest.” But they would not listen.
Can we see a reflection of the Church today in any of this, in our own thoughts perhaps. As I end for today focus on verse twelve. This applies directly to the Church and with a few exceptions His people have not listened. We have wonderful promises, a Promised Land (here, not just later), yet very few find that place of quiet rest, yet it is ours to possess. Let us determine today, that we will not just listen but do and occupy the promises bringing or showing the glory of God not only to the world but the Church as well. He is not holding back, we are not doing our part, we are slack.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
