THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND GOATS – PART ONE
Monday – February 5, 2018

Believe it or not we are springing forward into the tenth chapter of Hebrews. This is such a wonderful Book and therefore wonderfully informative, instructive, and empowering by aligning us more and more with God. Faith comes by hearing and our ability to hear and build faith comes by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Whatever we hear, receive, believe, and say is what we will have in our lives whether it be God’s will or the devils’. Until individuals, Churches, and the overall body of Christ come into much better alignment with what Scripture actually says we will remain devoid of power. How many of you are just plain fed up with not walking in the fullness of Scripture? The answer my precious brother and sister is to move forward from milk to meat. We must be diligent to identify the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons that we have been fed year after year and have believed it as the Word of God. People can be sincere but sincerely wrong. I know that I speak of false doctrine often but it is because it has poisoned individual lives and the Church as a whole. Please don’t let your mind just say: “yeah, yeah, you say this all the time”. Ignorance and the willful perpetuation of ignorance leads to increasing darkness and destruction not only in our lives but those around us. We must seek and walk in the Truth. The pursuit of Godly knowledge brings more and more light into our lives and our reality is transformed from the misery the Church teaches to the wonder of God in our lives. With that admonition let’s read our primary text for this wonderful Bible Study.
Hebrews 10:1-4 (KJV)
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Isn’t it wonderful that God has given us His Word and wants us to have full knowledge of this New Blood Covenant and to participate in it fully! (Please be aware of my multipart series to be published each Sunday starting yesterday, the 4th of February on Blood Covenant) As the Bible declares, “whosoever will” can be saved which brings us out of darkness into the Kingdom of Light and makes us a full participant in this New Blood Covenant in Christ Jesus.
Romans 10:12-13 (KJV)
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Isn’t this wonderful? The featured picture for this teaching is from Rose Publishing and has to do with the Feasts of the Lord, specifically the “Day of Atonement”. The Day of Atonement is also known as Yom Kippur (Yom being day, and Kippur being atonement). These teachings with regard to the High Priests and the yearly sacrifice are a reference to the Feast of the Lord known as The Day of Atonement. Since there can be some confusion around Passover and the Day of Atonement since both involve sacrifice (Firstfruits also requires a sacrifice) I will now do a brief review of the Feasts of the Lord. Our text in verse four talks about bulls, goats, and a yearly sacrifice brought by the High Priest which is the Day of Atonement.
By way of review let’s remind ourselves that there are seven Feasts of the Lord and they are all pointing to Christ Jesus. You can find much more detail in Leviticus chapters twenty-three and sixteen. There are four spring (spring on the Hebrew Calendar) feasts and three fall feasts. Each year this ministry sends our partners a beautiful Hebrew Calendar (made in Israel) as a way of blessing them and acknowledging their blessing to this ministry. Because these calendars are made in Israel it is also one way that this ministry blesses Israel.
Passover is the first spring feast and roughly corresponds to what we call “Good Friday” with the Feast of Firstfruits corresponding to what we call “Easter”.
Leviticus 23:4-5 (KJV)
4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
The first month on the Hebrew calendar is called Nisan. In the Exodus account when the children of Israel came out of Egypt they were instructed to take a lamb on the tenth for sacrifice on the fourteenth. Ten is the number of responsibility, generally our responsibility, and fourteen is the number of deliverance or salvation. That first Passover in Egypt was looking forward to The Lamb of God who would take away all sin creating an eternal redemption but until then the innocent animal blood would atone for the sins of the people.
Exodus 12:3 (KJV)
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
Exodus 12:6-7 (KJV)
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
The blood of that innocent animal upon the door posts protected all in the house and their animals. It identified them as belonging to God and the destroyer could not enter. The Blood of Christ Jesus has been applied to us at salvation as well and we have the earnest (2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Ephesians 1:14) of the Holy Spirit as well. The Israelites and others came out of bondage, slavery to the Egyptians, with silver and gold and there was none feeble among them (Psalm 105:37), our Covenant is for no less. Christ who is our Passover and was sacrificed for us.
1 Corinthians 5:6-8 (KJV)
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
I will pickup right here tomorrow, Lord willing.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
