THE GREATER THINGS – PART TWENTY-TWO

Greetings dear brothers and sisters of the Kingdom of God and welcome to the Sunday Bible Study. Right now, I am focused on the command of Jesus to do what He did and the greater works. How are we doing with that command?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Before proceeding further please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for doing that so that the Truth has a wider audience. If you have not joined our Virtual Wednesday Evening Bible Study please consider doing so, it is not the boring powerless time the enemy may have told you to expect. Today I am turning our attention back to Isaiah sixty-one where we get insight into the “greater works”. If the first verse and half of the second was a description of Jesus Ministry in the earth “the works that I do” then we can safely conclude that the following give insight into the greater works.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NLT)
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.
Verse two in the KJV is as follows and more accurate with describing Jesus’ ministry. Also, notice Young’s Literal Translation.
Isaiah 61:2 (KJV)
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isaiah 61:2 (YLT)
2 To proclaim the year of the good pleasure of Jehovah, And the day of vengeance of our God, To comfort all mourners.
The ministry of Jesus as an Anointed man (just like us) in the earth is outlined in the first verse and half (ending with “the acceptable year of the LORD KJV). Jesus certainly brought good news to the poor, saying, they don’t need to be poor and in fact are commanded not to be poor. Being poor in any way is under the curse and we have been redeemed from the curse. Not having enough or just enough is not the will or plan of God for anyone in His Kingdom. Our Ministry is in our overflow, our excess. He wants us to be very wealthy His way (physical and spiritual). There is no such thing as being rich spiritually and being poor in the physical, that does not exist, period. Our physical condition in finance and body is a mirror image of our soul.
3 John 1:2 (AMP)
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.
The condition of our soul, our thoughts, determine or physical world.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Reject the notion that one can have nothing in this world but great wealth in the one to come (Heaven). Heaven is not a communist or socialist state, we are not all the same in Heaven. Our eternal future, our standing (rank) in Heaven, is determined right here and now. Rather sobering, it least I hope so. Look at what Jesus says about focusing on the Kingdom, the result now, and later.
Mark 10:29-31 (KJV)
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Receive it, believe it, and do it, in Jesus name, me included.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
