WHEN WE ANSWER THE MASTERS CALL, WE ARE LABORERS IN THE VINEYARD

Welcome dear children to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and the ongoing study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. This was the major theme of Jesus’ Ministry and thus must be of ours as well. Jesus taught the Laws of the Kingdom and demonstrated the Laws of the Kingdom. What about you and me? Without further ado lets go to our anchor Scripture and delve once again into what is necessary for our success in the Kingdom.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I ask once again, do we see this as a doable command? Is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in the forefront of our thinking or do the things of the Kingdom follow after the things of our own natural lives? One is righteousness, one is sin, which are you, am I, doing? I will now move into the next teaching from the mouth of the Master about the Kingdom.
Matthew 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
Matthew 20:9-10 (KJV)
9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
This particular account, teaching of the Master, in Scripture is rather lengthy so I have not transcribed it all but enough to jog our memories and bring forward the Truth being transmitted. This man hired men at different times of the day, some working twelve hours, others nine hours, others six hours, others three, and finally others working only one hour. On first blush it seems unfair, but we must understand what Jesus is talking about.
This passage brings us back to our knowledge of righteousness or being righteous. There are two aspects of righteousness or being righteous. First and most fundamental is right standing with the Father. Our righteousness is actually Jesus’ righteousness that we got when He took our sin. The other aspect of being righteous is doing things according to Heaven’s way. So, there are those in the Kingdom for many years and others just minutes, but all are in right standing with the Father. Our salvation does not depend upon what we do but our rewards do. The penny in this account is representative (symbolic) of salvation.
TAKE HOME:
- The reward of salvation and eternal life is not dependent upon length of service in the Kingdom of God, our reward is.
- Are you able to separate who you are from what you do. We are all the same in Christ Jesus with regard to what is ours and who we are – sons, kings, priests, and joint heirs.
- Our Heavenly Father is fair, He is just, He is right, whether we understand it our not. Let us all say, “I’m with Him”.
