WHAT ABOUT CAMELS AND EYES OF NEEDLES?

Welcome dear children to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and the ongoing study of The Kingdom of God and repentance. This was the major theme of Jesus’ Ministry and thus must be of ours as well. Jesus taught the Laws of the Kingdom and demonstrated the Laws of the Kingdom. What about you and me? Without further ado lets go to our anchor Scripture and delve once again into what is necessary for our success in the Kingdom.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I ask once again, do we see this as a doable command? Is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in the forefront of our thinking or do the things of the Kingdom follow after the things of our own natural lives? One is righteousness, one is sin, which are you, am I, doing? I will now move into the next teaching from the mouth of the Master about the Kingdom. The following passage follows right on the heels of the account of the “rich young ruler” which is really mangled by the Church.
Matthew 19:23-26 (KJV)
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Jesus is not promoting poverty but the Kingdom of God. Where is your focus dear ones. Is it on God or mammon? Where is your focus? Consider the following three verses.
Matthew 6:21 (KJV)
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Is your greatest treasure the Lord and all is focused on Him and your God given assignments in the earth?
Matthew 6:24 (KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
We serve God with our mammon, it is a tool for the Kingdom, to serve our fellow man. This is our anchor Scripture, Matthew 6:33.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Where is our focus dear ones? It is going to take loads of money to get our job done on the earth. A pat on the back, best wishes, and prayer will not suffice. This verse immediately follows our text, does it sound like Jesus is teaching poverty?
Matthew 19:29 (KJV)
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
TAKE HOME:
- Poverty is not a part of our salvation package, it is a choice people make in ignorance, fear, false teaching, or laziness.
- Great wealth is for those fully committed to the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That is wealth here and of course to follow in the age to come. Go ahead and read Matthew 19:29 again, you’ll be ok.
- The eye of the needle and entering the Kingdom has to do with taking focus and dependance off the things of this life and putting it fully on the Lord, the Kingdom of God and doing things the Kingdom way.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
