Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and the continuation of a brand-new Bible Study titled “The Salvation Package”. The question is this, what does salvation mean? What does it mean to be saved? It seems to me that a common understanding is that when one is saved, they are going to Heaven not Hell when they die. It seems that the common message conveyed is that when we give our heart to the Lord, we go to Heaven someday, and in the meantime, we are to develop our character to be more like Jesus. Is that all that salvation or being saved means? I believe we will see as we move into this study that salvation is indeed a package with more than one item in the package. If we think of salvation as entering a large home with many rooms, it seems that many have entered but have remained in the foyer. They talk about the other rooms, sing about the other rooms but never garner the faith to enter and possess the contents of the other rooms. Why isn’t the whole message of salvation preached and taught?
One of the ways the Lord leads me in examining various topics in Scripture is to look at first use and God’s original intent. Man was created or made to live in the seventh day. Over six days God created all that would be need for man to live as God lives, in the seventh day. Man was made at the end of the sixth day when all was ready, all was finished.
Genesis 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
As you go on to read all of the text of the first two chapters of Genesis you will glean there was nothing that mankind would lack. Man was to rule and rulers rule by words backed by the power of the Kingdom, in this case the Blessing who is the Holy Spirit. It is no different for the Christian today for Jesus has returned us to the Seventh Day. Back to the Genesis chapter two text. It seems that between verses one and two of this text is when man was made and placed in the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 2:7-8 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
With the making forming of man came eternal instructions to man. It is not clear if these instructions were given before or after the forming of the woman but based on Genesis 1:27 likely after the forming of the woman. Perhaps you are wondering what all of this has to do with the “Salvation Package”, well be patient it will piece together if it hasn’t already. God does nothing that He does not fully provide for! Not in the original creation, where both the spiritual and physical aspects of the Kingdom of God were provided, or now with salvation. Recall that all physical manifestations are the result of spiritual roots. This physical creation came into being by the Word of God. The Word of God, all words, are spiritual, and yield not only spiritual realities but physical. Man had the spirit of God breathed into him and a body fashioned by God from the earth which was perfect without corruption. The spirit or nonmaterial part of man includes the soul and the spirit both given of God. More tomorrow.
TAKE HOME:
- Just as man had full provision when placed in the Garden of Eden so do we have full provision with entering salvation.
- We will delve further into the Seventh Day tomorrow, but do you believe this day was created for you and you entered at the point of salvation?
- It is a deception of the enemy that we must live after salvation as we lived before salvation. Let’s receive and partake fully of the Seventh Day, the salvation package.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
