AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE SWORD OF THE LORD
Greetings precious children of God the Father, brothers and sisters with Christ, and Helped of the Holy Spirit. Welcome back to our Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. Well Christmas is behind us and this Sunday coming is the start of the New Year, 2023. I don’t know about you but 2022 in some ways is a blur however many wonderful things happened in our lives. Christmas was wonderful and now the New Year looms, can we, should we, will we redeem what time we have in 2023 better than in the past? Did we spent our time in 2022 wisely.
Ephesians 5:15-18 (KJV)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
The phrase “redeeming the time” is asking if we used our time wisely. If we did not, and the Lord convicts us, and we can think of places we missed it, let’s repent and move into 2023 with new determination to do all the will of God for us. Isaiah 34:6-10 (KJV)
6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
8 For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
Those who reject the Blood of the Lamb of God will themselves see their own blood spilled. What an awful day when millions, perhaps billions, know they made wrong choices, hardened their hearts and are now in Hell forever. Forever never ends. We are not talking a year, a hundred years, a thousand years, but forever. If you do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior please do so right now, do not delay, you could be in Hell in four minutes. As you read down through the text above, does any of it sound the least bit good to you? For a bit of clarity know that Bozrah is a place in Edom (Idumea). The ‘unicorns’ are powerful persons in the earth in this life. Listen to Jesus talk about Hell.
Mark 9:43-44 (KJV)
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Verse 44 is repeated in verses 46 and 48, do you think Jesus is pleading, not wanting us to miss how awful Hell is really. I have heard people dismiss Hell with a casual comment that they don’t believe in God, in Heaven or Hell. Oh, how ignorant, stupid even, and how awful eternity will be for them. There is no beer party and football in Hell. Edom is in this Scripture but the key that God is really not talking about Edom but Hell is that Hell exists forever but Edom will not.
Lord willing, we will see you in 2023, enjoy the New Year weekend and ask the Lord how you can better spend your time. Finally, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
