WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR 2024?

Greetings to all and welcome back to our Sunday Bible Study. We have just plunged into a new year, what is your vision? The featured picture is of a sunrise over the land with low hanging fog perhaps obscuring details of that to come. A person recently said that they expected 2024 to be better than 2023. The question back to them was, what are you going to change? You see without change or changes 2024 will look much like 2023. Einstein is credited with saying that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

This word “vision” has to do with imagination, what have you imagined that you believe for 2024? The verse goes on to say that with no vision, no imagination, people perish. This means there is no upward trend or direction in the various arenas of life but a downward direction toward death. On the other hand, those who get their vision from the Words of God, they are happy. Why? They are on the increase; our God is an increase God.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (KJV)

2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Have you written your vision or is it a kind of we’ll see what happens. If we keep the vision before us pursuing it day by day it will manifest. The vision is our God given goals, short-term and long-term, coupled with Scripture. In the midst of this we must always be mindful of the following command (law).

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

You see success in our lives has everything to do with focus. Where are our thoughts focused, what are the words of our mouths, and do our actions correspond with those or are we false.

Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Perhaps one can fool the Sunday morning crowd but the direction of their life will be that of their thought life. Our thought life has brought each of us to this point in our lives. Are we running with the vision we have of our lives? This works on the natural level but not near to the level possible on the supernatural level. Look around and we can see phenomenal success by natural (unsaved) people. Just think what it could be and should be by the children of God. Remember Daniel, an Old Testament saint, not even born again or endued with Power from on High.

Daniel 1:20 (KJV)

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

So, what is our problem? Unbelief! Why do we just skim right over the Old Testament saints who were fabulously rich. Did they have a greater Covenant? They were problem solvers! Daniel moved into great affluence and influence due to wisdom from God. So did Joseph! Are you, am I, a problem solver where there seems to solution to the natural mind? Believe me saints the world does not have the necessary answers to the current messes of our nation, of our world. You and I are the ones that must step into the gap with Wisdom from above.
