YOUR LIGHT WILL BREAK OUT LIKE THE DAWN
Video link: https://youtu.be/cxKlIH6iu0M
Greetings dear friends, partners, and followers of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word. The Lord is good and greatly to be praised. Dear ones we are so blessed to have the whole of the Word of God, light for our path. These people in the time of Isaiah did not have what many today unfortunately take for granted. The featured picture is of a beautiful, grand old Church in the State of Alaska. These Church pictures are to remind us to pray for the Church, your local Church, and the greater Church. People are praying but they are not repenting and turning from their wicked ways. By praying, I mean people are talking to God asking Him to do what is ours to do. When we repent turning from our wicked ways and exercise the authority given us by God then He will release His Power.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Text. Please continue to read out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 58:8-10 (NASB)
8 “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 “Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,
10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.
In the preceding verses the Lord has pointed out the lack of sincerity among His people when they fast (forgo food partially or totally for a period of time). He pointed out that they are going through the motions but their hearts are not in it and in addition there is “contention and strife” among them. Then as we saw in verses six and seven the Lord tells us the kind of fast, He desires. He wants us to minister to the spiritual needs and the physical needs of our fellow man. I hope you can see that this is much like the 61st chapter of Isaiah, and much more just ahead in this chapter. The says, when you put the Kingdom of God first, that is the kind of fast He requires and rejoices in, and will cause us to be a bright light in our world. Remember this is a people in bondage, a disobedient people. The Lord says when you minister to people which by the way is His main focus, not only will you break forth as the light at dawn but our recovery from wickedness will be speedy. Let’s look at this 8th verse in the NLT to get a little more insight, especially into the terminal phrase.
Isaiah 58:8 (NLT)
8 “Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind.
You do realize that when the Lord has got your back, that is way better than the protective detail for the President of the United States. Now, let’s move into verse nine of our text and we see more corrective language.
Isaiah 58:9 (NASB)
9 “Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,
The Lord says that when we call, He will answer IF. There is always and IF dear ones. Remove the yoke from your midst or quit putting yokes or placing limitations on the freedom of Gods’ people. Next, the Lord speaks of the need to quit the pointing of the fingers.
Proverbs 6:12-14 (NASB)
12 A worthless person, a wicked man, Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth,
13 Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, Who points with his fingers;
14 Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil, Who spreads strife.
Finally, in this 9th verse the Lord says to quit “speaking wickedness”.
Psalm 12:1-3 (NASB)
1 Help, LORD, for the godly man ceases to be, For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
2 They speak falsehood to one another; With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.
3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaks great things;
O Lord search me, and teach me, and I will choose not to be this man. I will choose to fast as you choose.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
