YOUR HANDS ARE DEFILED

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of this amazing Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give this ancient people and us a light for our path. The featured picture is of a beautiful old Church in the State of Florida. This is to remind us to pray for our local Church, the Church in our State, and the Church (body of Christ) in our nation. Much of the body of Christ is outside your denomination or lack of denomination. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 59:1-4 (NASB)
1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken falsehood, Your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.
As we precede forward into the 3rd verse, we find the peoples “hands are defiled with blood”. What about our hands? What blood? The blood of an innocent person, the blood of their children sacrificed to Molech (Baal), or the blood of the sin sacrifice? In those days the High Priest would offer a sacrifice for the people for their sin.
Leviticus 16:15 (NASB)
15 “Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat.
Yet the people go on sinning, not receiving the atonement, and not turning from iniquity. They make a mockery of the blood and we do today make a mockery of the Blood of Jesus with our sin and refusal to repent or even acknowledge or identify our sin. Listen to the Prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 2:30 (NASB)
30 “In vain I have struck your sons; They accepted no chastening. Your sword has devoured your prophets Like a destroying lion.
Does any of this sound familiar? We live in a very rebellious generation. There is very little discipline. We don’t literally devour our Prophets/preachers with a physical sword but the words of our mouths. Listen to Jeremiah speak again to them and to us.
Jeremiah 7:28 (NASB)
28 “You shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the LORD their God or accept correction; truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.
This verse describes America today! The Church (body of Christ) has not accepted correction, Truth has perished in a great extent from society, but more importantly from the Church. The health, spiritual health, and subsequently the prosperity of a nation starts in the Church House.
Proverbs 14:34 (KJV)
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
We are far from a righteous nation at the moment. There is great hope but not until we, the Church, do the following verse in its entirety.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NASB)
14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
