WALKING IN PEACE – IN HIM
Video link: https://youtu.be/eZVSkv5FSP0
Greetings dear and precious saints of God. Even if you are not a saint of God you are still precious to Him and therefore to us. He paid the highest price ever paid for each of us to have the option of redemption. Dear ones, it is not about Church, although that is very important, it is about a personal relationship with the Redeemer, Christ Jesus, His Father, and His Holy Spirit. The featured picture today is of a beautiful Church in Iowa. The purpose for the image is to remind us all to intercede for our brothers and sister around us, our Church, and the Church at large. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text today in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 59:7-10 (NASB)
7 Their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
8 They do not know the way of peace, And there is no justice in their tracks; They have made their paths crooked, Whoever treads on them does not know peace.
9 Therefore justice is far from us, And righteousness does not overtake us; We hope for light, but behold, darkness, For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 We grope along the wall like blind men, We grope like those who have no eyes; We stumble at midday as in the twilight, Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.
I will pick up once again with verse eight of our primary text and the way of peace. I think we all want our way, to be the (the not a) way of peace. How is that achieved? Glad you asked, I will be dealing with that a little later in this teaching. First let’s once again take a look at the following passage.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NASB)
6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
Notice that this Kingdom that is being (already established with the Resurrection and the birth of the Church) established is based on justice and righteousness and will last forever. This is unlike any earthly kingdom. In prior kingdoms and even in our own nation today justice is disappearing and righteousness is being trampled upon. This is so wonderful and we are joint-heirs with Christ, we are not only sons of the Father, but kings and priests under the authority of Christ. When God does something, He does not cut corners! Now, what about the entering into this peace that God is making abundantly available.
Isaiah 26:2-4 (NASB)
2 “Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful.
3 “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.
4 “Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.
Look at verse three in the King James Version.
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
What are you thinking about? The problem or the unshakeable Rock? Do you really trust the Lord? Have you spent enough time with Him in intimacy, in His Word, in talking out loud to Him? Are we fully persuaded of His Word of His reliability, are we single minded or double minded? Remember dear ones it is always faith, powered of love, and led of the Holy Spirit, by the Word of God. Faith is when only one option is available and that is the Bible option. Love is when we are obedient to the Word, have selfless motivations, and understand we are walking in Blood Covenant with Him. We receive our primary guidance from the Bible but also from the inner witness (Holy Spirit).
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
