BEHOLD THE DARKNESS

Greetings dear and precious saints of the Most High God, brothers and sisters in Christ, and welcome back to our study of the marvelous Book of Isaiah. The featured picture today is of a really old Church building in the State of North Carolina. The purpose for this series of Church building pictures is to remind each one of us to pray for the Church (not the building), the body of Christ. Thank you for your introspection and your intercession. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.

Isaiah 60:1-5 (ESV)

1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.

3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

4 Lift up your eyes all around, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.

5 Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and exult, because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

Verse two of our primary Bible text told them and tells us that darkness, thick darkness will cover the earth, the peoples. This has happened many times since the Garden of Eden and I would hope that no one would question that the earth and peoples are in a thick darkness today. In this verse the Lord is calling those things that be not as though they are.

Romans 4:17 (ESV)

17 as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.

God is not just making this happen as many in the Church believe. That would be a violation of individual freewill and an injustice to those who choose to repent and do the will of God. Remember, the Lord is continuing to coax His people to return to Him, to worship Him and Him alone. As we have seen many times in this study of Isaiah, the Lord lays out the sins of His peoples, and then explains the benefits of change, repentance. How many times have you, have I, been there? By the way, Romans 4:17 is not just for God, it is for you and I to do concerning anything we are to get from God, from the supernatural. This is how Abraham brought Isaac into the world and subsequently our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. God changed Abram’s name which means exalted father to Abraham which means father of a multitude. Everyday, many times a day he heard that he was the father of a multitude.

Romans 10:17 (ESV)

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

You will find it faith building to go back and read the whole fourth chapter of Romans. These things are not just for a select few here and there down through time but every person in Christ Jesus. Me? Yes, you! When the glory of God is manifesting in our lives everyone around about us is going to notice and ask, how did this happen. This will draw people to the Kingdom of God. They are not interested in our happy songs and loud sermons in the midst of the same curse they are dealing. They are not looking for a religious misery. They are looking for real answers and we have them. Not only will the ordinary people come to us but leaders in all spheres of society, of influence.

Our light is not a rousing Church service, it is not passing out tracts, or driving our relatives crazy with our Church talk. Our light is the Truth in our mouths producing the manifestation of God’s goodness (glory) in our lives. As I end, I want it to be very clear that I am talking about significantly increased finances, prosperity in everything, and walking in healing/health.

3 John 1:2 (KJV)

2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
