THE GLORY HAS RISEN UPON YOU
Video link: https://youtu.be/jyLKt026TUI
Greetings dear and precious saints of the Most High God, brothers and sisters in Christ, and welcome back to our study of the marvelous Book of Isaiah. The featured picture today is of an old Church building in the State of New Jersey. The purpose for this series of Church building pictures is to remind each one of us to pray for the Church (not the building), the body of Christ. Thank you for your introspection and your intercession. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 60:1-5 (ESV)
1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.
3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 Lift up your eyes all around, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.
5 Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and exult, because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.
Yesterday we left off talking about the “light has come”. The light is the Christ, the Word, the revelation of Truth. I asked the question yesterday if sinners are the only ones that need to come to the light. We are quick to say that we know the Truth. Is that true? There are many sacred cows in the Church which are the traditions of men and the doctrine of demons both of which leave the Church with no Power, no manifestation of the goodness (glory) of God. Do you prove by the Word of God, what it actually says, all that you see and hear? Why not? If we are walking fully in the light with the glory (goodness) of God risen upon us, shouldn’t we be seeing the Ministry of Jesus, the Book of Acts in our midst and in our own lives on a regular basis? Yes, of course we should! Let’s take a look at a similar passage to our primary Bible text.
Malachi 4:1-3 (ESV)
1 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts.
Are the arrogant and evildoers only in the world? Could some be in the Church? What about the wolves in sheep’s clothing, what about the tares sowed among the wheat, and what about those that on the final day come to the Lord and He says He never knew them?
Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV)
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Lawlessness is unrighteousness not operating in the ways of the Word and thus not in right standing. These are passages that should cause us all to examine ourselves and our beliefs. Let’s see what Jesus said in another place along these same lines.
Luke 6:45-49 (ESV)
45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?
47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:
48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
49 But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”
Never forget, anything that is not the Word of God is evil.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
