IT CAN’T EVEN MOVE
Greetings precious saints of the only Living God, the only God who can save from the wrath to come. And welcome back to this informative and though provoking study of the Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The Truth is sorely needed in the world to bring light and in the Church to drive out the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons. Dear brothers and sisters let us determine in our hearts to be good Berean’s. Let us prove every word, seeing if it be true or not.
Acts 17:10-11 (NLT)
10 That very night the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.
11 And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.
This is a lot of work but far better than believing and acting on traditions and doctrines of demons. We will not see God manifest in your life beyond salvation and speaking tongues perhaps believing lies. Remember, it is the Truth that makes us free. Free of what? All the bondages of the curse! The featured picture is of a beautiful fall scene taken a few years ago in Maine.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud, yes, out loud. It is not a complete waste to read silently but you will not build or increase faith (Romans 10:17) and it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Now, to our text reading out loud.
Isaiah 46:6-10 (NLT)
6 Some people pour out their silver and gold and hire a craftsman to make a god from it. Then they bow down and worship it!
7 They carry it around on their shoulders, and when they set it down, it stays there. It can’t even move! And when someone prays to it, there is no answer. It can’t rescue anyone from trouble.
8 “Do not forget this! Keep it in mind! Remember this, you guilty ones.
9 Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me.
10 Only I can tell you the future before it even happens.
Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.
I left off with verse seven and commenting, God first, on the absurdity of idols, false gods. They make these things themselves or pay to have them made, carry them around for they can’t move, then they bow down to it. There is never an answer and never brings a rescue. Then the Lord tells them to keep all this in mind, the uselessness of idols, false gods, essentially any God apart from Him, and reminds them that they are guilty. Guilty of worshiping another God and bowing down to graven images.
Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
I think verse five gives us some insight as to how serious God sees this matter. He says that we hate Him when we bow down to another god and it brings a curse and the generations to follow. However, verse six is the counterweight for those that love Him, don’t do this abominable thing. Perhaps we don’t have a graven image in our home but is there anyone, anything, or any activity that comes before God?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
